Football Kyle is out today.

If he got a concussion, which seemed likely when his head hit the ground on that last hit before he went out, I would think his coming back would depend on the severity. But not being back after 2 weeks, again if a concussion is involved, probably means it's severe enough that I think it's unlikely he'll be back this season. Way too much risk for a young man with a potentially bright future.

Seems the depth of our RB room (probably the deepest position group we have) is going to be tested the rest of the season.

Maybe not "like", but accurate

If we go winless the rest of the season, and the games are not close…

Indeed he did, and I've given him the credit he deserves for it ad nauseum on this board
He was 10000 % the right man for the job in 2019; and arguably, the only guy (outside of Saban or Vince Lombardi) who could have built, then rebuilt, our program

Unfortunately though, he is still stuck in his old ways
Reminds me a lot of Kirk Ferenz - great man, knows D, decent coach, guys play hard, churns out NFL talent... but consistently shits the bed when it counts

I don't believe he's the guy to take us to the promised land
I'd love to be wrong, and would gladly come here to eat crow if I am - but I just don't see it w/him
If schiano or any Rutgers can do what Ferentz has done at Iowa , we would sign for that in a second .

Schiano is not getting fired anytime
Soon . I get your passion. , but you are wasting energy in your fingers typing it

OT: New York Yankees 2024-2025 Off Season Thread

The 98 Yankees had Jeter, Posada, Tino, O'Neill. Knoblauch, Bernie....and Strawberry, Raines, and Chili Davis.
Plus a great starting rotation and Mariano as the closer.
I could have won managing with that talent.
That's my point. Let the players play and stop trying to change the game using a bunch of nerds, who can't play any sports, telling the pros how to play the game! The most powerful people on the Yankees don't even put on a uniform or step on the field!

Boone isn't the problem. He goes by the playbook the nerds in the analytics room force feed him. Cashman and the nerds are the entire problem. Strikeouts and lack of fundamental skills is fine with them as long as the Yankees lead the league in home runs.
Back in 1998 when Cashman was elevated to GM but Joe Torre still ran the team, from the dugout and on the field, it was old fashioned baseball. Make your plate appearances count, drive up the pitching count and strike outs were not the equivalent to any other out.

1998 stats
WAR 39.4
PA - 6444
AB - 5643
Hits - 1625
HR - 207
SO - 1013
Avg - .289

2024 stats
WAR 30.3
PA - 6245
AB - 5450
AB - 1352
Hits - 1352
HR - 237
SO - 1326
Avg - .248

So Cashman analytics increased home runs by 30 but destroyed every other offensive category!!

Well, boys ... I haven't a thing to say. Played a great game...all of you. Great game.

I guess we just can't expect to win ‘em all. I'm going to tell you something I've kept to myself for years -- None of you ever knew George Foster Sanford. It was long before your time. But you know what a tradition he is at Rutgers...

And the last thing he said to me -- "Source," he said - "sometime, when the team is up against it -- and the breaks are beating the boys -- tell them to go out there with all they got and win just one for the Big He...

I don't know where I'll be then, Source", he said - "but I'll know about it - and I'll be happy."
