Recruiting

That’s strange. I heard earlier this week there was a weird NIL situation with Ludington going on. Something about his club coaches getting paid by some ASU NIL foundation but I don’t have any details about it. Didn’t think he’d decommit but whatever. His timeline would line up here pretty well.
Interesting as Dave Kiley(asst coach Brick Mem) was hired in early Sept to run State 48(looks like a type of fundraising arm of ASU wrestling). Wonder how long he stays out there......

OT: I-95 Camera Ticket (MD)

Maryland is so bad about this, they seem to hide them ,no warnings. NY is bad but MD horrible except that parts of NY will soon lower speed limits to 20 mph in places to give more tickets.
My memory long before all of these technology advances (going back 30-40 years) is that when you were driving from the northeast to Florida, the state you tried to be in your best behavior in was Maryland because they always devoted the most resources to catching (and generating revenue from) the speeders just passing through their state.

You would be correct if we ran plays for Cliff like we did last year - giving it to Cliff to do his non-existent post moves way too far from the basket. If that had happened you would be correct and it would have been coaching malpractice if pike used Cliff in that way on this team.

Had Cliff stayed pike would have (or atleast should have) used him like bama apparently is . I can’t imagine they are feeding him in the post like we did last year. So I doubt very much that he’s the black hole for bama that he was for us on offense

It’s an interesting “what if”. ….
Would cliff had accepted an adjusted role had he stayed?
Until teams took it away, Miles ran our offense well through the high post.
Cliff could never figure out how to do it

BTW Ace Hammin' It Up On Camera Against St. Peter's, Ha....

not nonsense to me.

I see JWill with a bruised shoulder diving for a basketball and it bothers that a guy is not playing and dancing on the bench oblivious to the fact that we are losing. Dylan Harper is diving for balls.

Obviously this one and done thing isnt for me. For Ace Bailey there is a ton of money at stake so i kind of get it, but i really hate it.

Sorry but it really rubs me the wrong way.
Just like when you speculated that Ace was holding out for money, you’re now engaging in other ridiculous speculation. Clearly something is eating at you because you’ve been focused on the worst possible interpretation of every little thing that happens for a couple weeks now.

I for one am grateful that these five star kids took a chance, went against the grain, and came to Rutgers. As a result, I’m not going to make it my purpose to needle them and try to make them look bad at every opportunity.

OT: Airport sightings

I’ve had several celebrity run ins at the airport. Funniest was Eli Manning. I was right behind him in the security line. He was traveling with his wife, his kids, and his sister in law. It was funny because he was carrying a car seat, his wife’s carry on, his sister in laws carry on, and one more bag. Dude looked hilarious with all the stuff he was carrying. I remember saying to him, “Eli, tell your wife you’re a SB champion!” He ended up laughing and his wife laughed and told me “well now he’s a stay at home dad”.

On flights I’ve sat next to or near:
- Jim Nance
- Joe Torre
- a famous Victoria’s Secret model (her male companion looked at me and said it was my lucky day)
- Ludacris
- The Situation (I gave him the lowdown on how he should spend his time in LA as a “celebrity”
- Reverend Run (had a great chat with him and he ended up inviting me to a party he was DJ’ing in Austin
- Undertaker (didn’t say a word to him just nodded)

Another interesting run-in at the airport was with a famous Hollywood starlet. I was with my friends at LAX waiting at the gate for a return flight to EWR. My friend says, “OMG, I think that girl sitting over there is [hollywood starlet].” Not sure why I did (maybe to seem cool?), but I walk up to said girl, ask if the seat next to her was taken and start chatting her up. Luckily, our flight was a little delayed and when we finally boarded I walked away with her number. Ended up going on a few “dates”.

I’ll tell you the story of running into Jay Z on 3 straight days and how I ended up having dinner with Britney Spears another time.
