Absolutely Pure SPECULATION - New AD Candidates?

RU should pursue a current #2 AD at a Big Ten blue blood (not just any Big Ten school), or maybe from the SEC (though not sure of the culture fit there) ... or the current AD at a strong sports and academic school from a dying conference, or a conference at risk of dying ... like Stanford (Bernard Muir has been at Stanford for 12 years ... started at Delaware and Georgetown - East Coast teams ... 5 years at various assistant AD duties at Notre Dame, at the NCAA running or helping run the NCAA Basketball Championship).

I have NO idea whether he is available, or has any interest, or if RU has the money, clout or connections or interest ... Stanford is very prestigious (off the charts academically, very strong in sports, especially Olympic sports) ... but stuck in the ACC, both as a secondary ACC team, and the ACC is hardly guaranteed to survive.

Just saying.

Pat Hobbs - Appreciation thread

First and foremost, I'm hoping Pat takes care of himself, and commend him for putting his health first.
He's done an overall tremendous job as our AD, and I'm hoping the "next man up" can continue the momentum.
Brief review below:

Positives:
- Hiring Schiano
- Hiring Pike
- Getting Battaglia refurbished
- Rodkin
- APC
- NIL (hiring a team to solicit big $$ corporations and small businesses)
- Rac renovations coming soon
- Engaging personality - always accessible to fans and donors

Negatives:
- Hiring Ash
- Nearly bundling Schiano's rehire
- NIL (initially, now it's much improved)
- CVS (debatable though - he likely had his hands tied)

Pat stepped into a tough situation and did an overall great job. He treated everyone (fans, media, co-workers. subordinates, etc.) with a tremendous amount of respect and dignity
Overall, I'd give him an A- or B+

Thank you, Pat, you will always be a Loyal Son!

Pat Hobbs resigned

Pat Hobbs resigns as Rutgers athletic director, citing health concerns
>“After meeting with my cardiac team this week and having just been apprised of the results of my latest round of testing, it is clear that I can not continue to serve as Athletic Director given the requirements of the position,” Hobbs wrote in an email to school president Jonathan Holloway. “I recognize this is not the ideal timeframe to depart, however other factors need to take precedence.”<
