Twin Cities Pioneer Press: Kirk Ciarrocca Offered $1.5 million/year

If you enter your e-mail, you can read the article:

"After not being able to hire other offensive coordinators, Rutgers came back to Ciarrocca on Thursday and offered him a salary around $1.5 million, a source said."

"Meanwhile, the New Jersey school’s athletics department had $265 million in outstanding debt as of Sept. 2021, according to northjersey.com."

"Fleck has said in the past he wants an offensive coordinator to double as the quarterback coach. He has had that with Ciarrocca, as well as in the two-year stint with Mike Sanford Jr. in 2020-21. Fleck did not retain Sanford amid offensive struggles over two seasons and brought back Ciarrocca after last season."

Men’s Basketball to Host 1983 (Jan 8) and 1991 (Jan 15) Reunions and Letterwinner Game at MSG

I guess I’m a bit dumb

1) called for a 5-6 point let down loss in Bac’s prediction thread. So yea…

2) and really the reason for the thread…
Why do they only sell the generic number 1 jerseys?

I thought they did this because it had something to do with Pre-Nil laws.

Why arent there player jerseys for sale (especially at the RAC) ideally with the kids whose jersey is being sold getting a cut?

Isn’t that NIL in its purest form?

My kid wants a damn blacked out McConnell or Mulcahy jersey.
Why not sell me one?

Most important KC stat IMO

Forget about schemes, pass / run ratio, etc. He knows how to score points. At each stop he has consistently improved the points per game and national ranking each year.

2013 -- Western Michigan -- 17.2 ppg (118th)

2014 -- Western Michigan -- 33.8 ppg (34th)

2015 -- Western Michigan -- 36.0 ppg (26th)

2016 -- Western Michigan -- 41.6 ppg (9th)

2017 -- Minnesota -- 22.1 ppg (110th)

2018 -- Minnesota -- 28.9 ppg (65th)

2019 -- Minnesota --- 34.1 ppg (22nd)

2020 -- Penn State -- 29.8 ppg (54th) *This is the one outlier, PSU ranked 15 in scoring in 2019, however they dropped to 90th at 25 ppg in 2021.

2022 -- Minnesota -- 28.2 ppg (66th) *Minnesota ranked 83rd at 25.5 ppg in 2021.

I’m addition, we have not exceeded the 53rd ranking at 28.8 ppg in 2008 over the 14 seasons since.

Furthermore, you can pretty much attribute the improvement at WMU and Minnesota almost exclusively to KC, since Fleck has never been an OC so presumably KC ran the offense with autonomy.

If he can repeat the same pattern here, this is very good hire.

Kill Shots Per Game

Defined as: The number of double digit scoring runs per game (10 points or more scored in a row without the opposing team scoring).

Rutgers has had 21 this season, which leads the country. Tennessee is next with 18.

Rutgers has only allowed 3 of such runs against them.

I found this on evanmiya.com
Pretty interesting stuff on there, more in-depth I’d have to subscribe. But I’m cheap so I won’t.

Very impressive.

A little chaos for the B1G

Indiana was the pre-season favor, but we all knew better. Purdue looked the part, but if you examined them closely, you saw some cracks in the armor. Wisconsin is not great, but they scare me as they look like the Badgers who won the regular season B1G title two years ago. They get by the skin of their teeth, and I didn't know teeth had skin. 😁 I won't say who I think will win the B1G because we need to see more conference games, but I do think the league has different layers to it.

The top group, for now, is Purdue, Rutgers, Ohio State, Michigan, Michigan State, Penn State, and Wisconsin.
The next group is Indiana, Northwestern, Illinois, and Maryland.
The third group is Nebraska, all alone.
The bottom feeders are Minnesota and Iowa.

Look he may be competent, he may be ok but for $1.5mm you could literally buy an ELITE OC.

I think we'll actually have an OK offense under kirk, hes not a bad OC. Just for this type of money id expect a GREAT OC
