NBC swipes ESPN’s Todd Blackledge to team with Noah Eagle for new Big Ten coverage​

If Fox hires away Kirk Herbstreit Reece Davis is going to be left with the poor old coach and wannabe bookie "Bear" on College Gameday. He's good, but that's a heavy lift for entertainment value.

Desmond Howard has options also I'd suppose.

I thought that when Reese fouled McConnell on the pick, it was more flagrant than the one they called 2 possessions later. AND, they didn't review it!!!.. His elbow and arm raised and pushed McConnell to the floor.

Did anyone else see it that way???

Which Experienced QB is Ciarrocca bringing with him to Rutgers?
One would expect this from signing him to one of the largest contracts for a College Offensive Coordinator.

There are certain phrases and terms in sports that I find annoying and over used.

Say what we want about his occasional turnovers but my good this guy is a 1 man trap on defense he will trap the ball in one corner and if they make the pass he is there to trap the next guy when he receives the ball just love it he is amazing; Now we may occasionally beat off the press but the number of turnovers we create has been amazing and even if we don't get a turnover off the press itself it leads to the opposing team not to be able to get into their offense and a number of 30 second violations!!

The ones I think most likely gone are RB, TE (Nunz) and possibly WR as the group underachieved - a lot due to piss poor QB play and didn't show much development but he might get a do over based on how bad the QB play was. I think Oline is safe.

On November 10, 1883 Rutgers football team travelled to Easton, PA and met Lafayette and was shut out 25-0 on College Campus grounds. Admission was 25 cents.

Just ran across an ebay listing from late October that put a ticket from that game up for auction. About a half dozen bidders ran the price up over $1,100. The link below will take you to the page with an image of what that ticket looked like:

Maybe it’s buried in one of the current threads, but do we know who the big man was in the first row behind the RU bench? Appeared to be a recruit and fist bumped Cliff and walked into the locker room with Cliff and the team as they came off the court after the game. Was an inch or two shorter than Cliff.

“From everything I’ve gathered, it mostly seems like a two-horse race for 2024 five-star forward Airious "Ace" Bailey, and Auburn and Rutgers are those two horses. Auburn has the McEachern connection, while Rutgers has ties close to those around Bailey. I lean toward Auburn at this time, but there’s been so many instances where friend/family ties win out in recruitments, so I’ve been reluctant to go all in with an Auburn FutureCast so far. It would really catch me off guard to see Bailey choose another collegiate option outside of these two.” - Graf

After reading some of the reactions. I think its safe to say Kirk is a competent OC. He also doesn't move the needle. Both can be true. A steady and efficient offense, above average defense and special teams can win you games. Its can also cost you games. We will see.

I wish I had some insight into this one but it seems schiano is burning bridges left and right to the point where even $1,000,000 cant hire an OC. He has former coaches publicly ripping him. Former players publicly ripping him. Former coaches undressing him behind the scenes (i personally spoke to one) Things have got to be toxic well beyond what we have even speculated.

Imo its to the point where if he doesnt turn this thing around in 2023 you have to encourage him to retire and avoid the public humiliation of being fired.

Here are his buyout figures.

- If fired after 2023 season $12,000,000 so odds are hes not fired after 2023
- If fired after 2024 season $9,100,000.

If you really want him to quit and retire, if youre pat hobbs you simply dont extend his contract or you give him an extension in name only. In other words keep no more than 4 years on his contract and keep his buyout going down. That will piss him off to the point he retires. Put me on the list of things are trending in the wrong directions and if things dont do a 180, we need to move on from schiano.

Don’t know if anyone saw this but when we were lining up for the National Anthem someone purposely bumped Cliff hard - I think it was Reese. Cliff turned around like WTF, and a fight could have easily broke out. Maryland def should have started out with a technical.

Just mentioned at his press conference.
