RU v USF Mid-2000’s/RU - VT Saturday

Anyone getting the same vibe about this game that all of those games had? Seemed like the nation was in love with them, they had the stud quarterback, I think they were always favored - but I could be wrong -yet we just took care of business IIRC 5-straight years? It may have been something like seven out of eight at one point, but I’m talking specifically those four years from 2006 to 2009.

Thank you and Congratulations Coach Buxton

Jeff Buxton, one of the most highly decorated and successful wrestling coaches in America has been named Assistant Wrestling Coach at Columbia. For the last 3 1/2 years Coach Buxton served as the Head Coach of the SKWC. He was Sebastian Rivera's primary coach when Seb won the World Silver Medal in Belgrade in 2023 and the Olympic Bronze Medal in Paris last August. Buxton is credited with elevating the level of many Rutgers wrestlers while at the SKWC.

As the head coach at Blair Academy, he coached 12 future NCAA champions and 41 All Americans as well as coached 10 USA number one ranked teams. He served as an assistant coach for the USA Senior World Team in Kazakhstan. In 2018, Coach Buxton was inducted into the National Wrestling Hall of Fame.

The Rutgers and SKWC coaches and athletes have been fortunate to have had the opportunity to work with and learned from Coach Buxton.

Thank you, Coach Buxton, for your dedication and loyalty. May you continue to excel as you develop wrestlers for success on the mat and in life. It has been an honor watching you coach at Rutgers.

Virginia Tech Parking?

Has anyone decided where they're going to park at Virginia Tech? I've done some research and there are houses and churches that allow parking but the rates aren't available anywhere online so they could be anything. The VT website listed a few off campus places within a 20 minute walk from the stadium, I'm thinking right now about Beeks Elementary School, says it's a 17 min walk to the stadium or the Airport West Runway Lot, says its 10 min.

Has anyone found anything else?

Brian Cameron Takes over Head Coaching Role at Bishop Guertin

Congrats to him. His father won a lot of games there as the HC so he will have a lot to live up to, which I am sure he will. They have a great relationship with RU through BG and their high profile club team. We've have a few kids already from that program.

Good luck to him, I'm certain he will do great.
