As ridiculous as seriously thinking of finding his successor due to tonight would be, it is equally ridiculous and imo, disrespectful for all the successor talk with our HOF coach while she is actively coaching without speaking of retirement. Let's wait until we get to that point, then we address it.
In regard to the game tonight, ...you see what I've been saying. Elite ballers often win out over elite coaches with developing players. SC is loaded in every facet, while UConn is down in the post this season with no bench. Told you about Boston.... and Adoda.
Loaded teams vs teams with deficiencies usually ends up in a 20 or 30pt blowout -hence, our results yesterday vs Md.

My comment about Geno was tongue in cheek. As for talking about CVS's successor, I don't mind people speculating or putting together a wish list. Personally, I am a big fan of Vivian's and have no desire to push her out of her job. I just don't think she will choose to coach for too many more seasons.
70-52 final. Utter domination! Congrats to Dawn, and Jolette, and 18,000 crazed fans. UConn was just awful, awful, and SC's defense was unreal. Me thinks there is a changing of the guard going on nationwide.
Before we get too giddy - and believe me, I'm happy as could be - take a look at UConn's next couple of recruiting classes.
At one of UConn's functions, Geno said this year was not going to be pretty, but that he expects the next 3 seasons to be undefeated. He's a cocky you-know-what, but, as I said, look at the commits and signees.
I know you weren't serious. I wasn't serious either when I said "find his successor. The CVS successor wish list is a fair discussion. You appear to be a true supporter of the program to me. We know there are those who come with a lot of negativity whenever the team loses a game or is down big in a game. My comments where really with them in mind, asking for CVS' removal. As supporters of the program, we need to be careful not to fuel that negativity. Also, we don't want to discourage future recruits from choosing RU because of talk that the coach may be out in the very near future.
We've had a really rough stretch following the Fab 5 class that didn't work out. A few years of slim recruits, Juco transfers to fill out rosters, and a 6-2something W-L record. Last year was maybe the spark of positive momentum regarding appeal for better recruits. Alexis Morris chose us when I'm sure a lot of top notch programs would have loved to have her. Arella's emergence and team's early success has continued our upward trend. We have the new facilities and a very good class coming. Let's keep that momentum going. Viv deserves to be able to see this through. ......If we are still mediocre 2 or 3 years from now, then I will be thinking about the successor also.
