I appreciate everything he did there, but the way he left the program in shambles, with all the discipline issues, academic situations, and talking shit, the me that is completely unacceptable and completely low Class way to leave, which is why as a man I have zero respect for him as a man

Kirokian wanted huge money and thankfully Alford told him to go scratch as womens soccer isn’t money maker
FB ranked 4 and soccer ranked 1 - both undefeated, sick recruiting, big $ donations, NIL, legit shot for natties this year & bright futures ahead
Me thinks things have turned out just fine for both programs who’s respective coaches decided they no longer wanted to coach in Tallahassee
Ok. So in a nutshell it’s not ok for coaches to publicly state they don’t get the support they see at others schools. But it is ok for your AD to publicly lie to your soccer coach.
I know MSU was in a weird situation with this hire but that’s now 2 of their last 3 coaches that got really quick hooks. They will need to pay big in my opinion. I’d like to see Lashlee there
Don’t love it for Leipold except for the ease at which he can grab JUCO’s there
I think Lashlee, Lebby seem realistic for Miss State. I'd say Herman too but he might need to do more at FAU.
I don't think Leipold would go there. An Athletic article by Feldman on A&M said he was high on their list. I was surprised by that. Not that he isn't good and I like him but didn't think they would look towards him. He's also there for MSU as well.
Chadwell is 10-0 at Liberty and after his nice stint at Coastal Carolina, he might wait to see what else might come along but it is in the south and I've read his wife prefers that.

Other than MSU, I don't really see his name bandied about much. Even for MSU, his name is down the list. I suppose it could happen from a domino kind of effect. Some coach moves from P5 to P5 and then Candle's name gets out there.
Would IU fire Allen with 20M buyout? If that happens, I suppose Candle could be a possibility for them. Other midwest teams have just recently hired their coaches so not sure Candle has many options in that region. Maybe if Campbell gets taken from ISU (although haven't seen his once hot name come up much either) than Candle could follow his footsteps again.
I don't think expectations were that out of wack for the amount of money TA&M and the talent they are able to recruit/composate. they should be expected to be a top 10-15 team every year. I think they had the number 1 class in 2022 and multiple top 10 classes before that.
To me it shows that it can't just he a top coach/name coach but one that is a good fit for the program and still hungry to win, and most importantly, be able to get the most out of their players. That is the metric athletic directors should look for.. how much was the coach able to out perform with the talent they recruited.

IIRC did they not have to suspend or dismiss some players toward the end of last season. Seems like Fisher lost control of the locker room going back to last year. If kids are not buying into what the coach is selling you cannot be successful as a program.

Kirk wasn’t shaking them down. They had an agreement and Alford didn’t honor it. Ok fine but then don’t cry when your coaches leave for greener pastures and don’t honor their side of the agreement
Everything was already there when we won the natty in 13 sans the FOF - so he was already way off base during his initial bashing

FOF delay = Between the Willy hiring / firing / buyout, Covid, hiring Norvell and Alford getting promoted, the initial date / proposals got changed & pushed back
Conference expansion = I stand by my 2025 prediction as that’s what was conveyed to me again this weekend
Yes, Kirk was shaking them down. He never discussed it w Alford. Colburn was AD when he started chirping (it actually started with Waldo, but escalated when Colburn came on board)
A & M is not, has never, and will never be greener pastures than FSU on this or any other planet
The place is a cesspool of underachieving weirdos who have never won anything despite having every concirvable advantage known to man
Meanwhile, FSU is a top 10 job in college football, possibly top five with the history, tradition, Weather, natural, recruiting advantages, etc.
Kirk is now w USA soccer. I’m happy for him as he felt he needed a change. But nobody was going to pay him what he thought he deserved when he coaches non revenue producing sport
Alford made a smart choice not telling him to kick rocks, and followed that up with a great hire, as the ladies are undefeated and number one in the country
Tallahasee certainly isn’t for everybody. But it’s a special place where you can win big and be handsomely compensated for doing so.

FSU soccer made money. Only program in the country to do so. I’m glad they’ve continued their success under Brian, he’s a solid guy in real life.

Like I say, I wish him well, he put the program on the map, and without him we would not be where we are today in women’s soccer.
Additionally, when he left, he did not go, blazing guns out the door, he went pretty respectfully, although there was clear tension with him and Alford
also, from my understanding: any job Jimbo gets his pay won't be deducted from what he is owed
Why would the school keep it on their balance sheet if they can cover it in full via private funding?
NW can always do a “friendly” deal like Miss St did when they promoted Arnett.
With that thinking, why would schools ever take on debt when they have billions in endowment?
Seems very premature, but better now than after mississippistatAl clamored for and got him a huge raise and extension just because that's what other teams do. Did not watch their game last week, but basing a decision on one game is foolish.

Jason Candle record is a bit like Greg Schiano 1.0's 2006-2011. A fantastic year, followed by some solid, but not great years, with the last 2 years (minus the 2010 year) being solid, however, Candle's have been great. Was a huge proponent for his hire when Ash was fire. Now, kind of lukewarm.

Apparently, him and Alford met in the offseason about this exact topic and Norvell basically laughed it off saying he's happy in the 850 and seeing what Jimbo is going through down there with those lunatics, he wants no part of it
There's a few other things at play:
1. Highly doubtful FSU would let Average & Medicore come in twice do poach our guy
2. Mike has gotten everything he wanted, that Jimbo wanted but didn't get. FOF, additional staff/support, nutrition, buy in from admin, new AD / president, etc.
3. He just got his bump. Making around 7 mil year, state has no income tax like Texas, and he's at a program with actual history and tradition, unlike College Station
**** Of great importance, FSU Boosters are much more on the laid-back side then that of A & M, Gators, etc.
There's a reason we tend to keep our coaches for extended periods (Bowden 40 years, Mike Martin 50 years, Leonard Hamilton 20 years, Bobby's assistants 20 years, Sue 20 years, Lonnie 20 years, etc.).
Tallahassee is a great place to live, has all 4 seasons, rolling hills, state capital, old money, and a general laid back, friendly vibe.
Couple that with fans that have very high expectations but aren't completely nuts like UF, A & M, etc. and Boosters who aren't poor but don't write checks for the sake of writing checks, top notch weather, facilities, natural recruiting, tradition, etc. and it's a very desirable place to be
I’d still be surprised if he’s let go but who knows.
