Brian Lindgren probably is the frontrunner
Lindgren was my first thought when Smith talk to MSU startedBrian Lindgren probably is the frontrunner
A name being bandied about is Bret Vigen from Montana State
Beating Louisville increases his chances , in which I felt he was in second tier of who A&M would go after. That sounds like a good name. See if he can take it up a notch with more resources.
Even talk of Dabo and A&MI like Smith for MSU more than Stoops for A&M.
Nobody worth their salt wants to coach in College Station
Chasing money and not valuing the job you have can end in misery. Smart move by Stoops. He does not need to "stoop" to the Aggies level.
Actually besides the money, A&M might not be that desirableChasing money and not valuing the job you have can end in misery. Smart move by Stoops. He does not need to "stoop" to the Aggies level.

I see what you did there.Chasing money and not valuing the job you have can end in misery. Smart move by Stoops. He does not need to "stoop" to the Aggies level.
Nothing about that place is resembles anything desirableActually besides the money, A&M might not be that desirable

Exactly. The grass isn't always greener, even if the $ is. I see this all the time in other jobs. People jumping for more $ only to be miserable at their next job or lose it in 12-18 months. I value quality of life, happiness and stability over more money.Chasing money and not valuing the job you have can end in misery. Smart move by Stoops. He was pretty definitive in saying he’s not leaving Oregon when the A&M rumors popped up. Wouldn’t be the first coach to do the opposite of what he said though lol.Coaching is a crazy thing. A lot of these guys make awesome money and basically only need to win 2-3 key games per year. They don’t even really need to recruit too much since the school pedigree and assistants get the recruits. But, no job is perfect and eventually even if you can stay forever you need a change.
I’m interested to see how long Lanning sticks after this year in Oregon. By all accounts he (and family) loves it and he’s winning. Sure that could change moving to B1G but it’s also a consistent pathway to the playoff now, which wasn’t always the case on the P12.
Been there, done that. I'm happy slogging away in our small office, with no politics, nonsense or distractions that can be found at larger organizations. I could go home richer somewhere else, but highly doubt I would go home happier. I tell my kids that the 2-3 years that were most miserable in my career were the years I made the most money.Exactly.
