KM looks a little chubby.
Maybe that's why he only clocked a 4.6
At least nobody sees KM as a Saquon Barkley breaking away for long TDs
But GMs love to have some data to justify their moves in case a pick ends-up wasted.

Last year Blake Corum ran a 4.53 at 205lbs
He went in 3rd round despite 1250 yds and 27 TDs
KM had 34.5 vertical - 35.5 for Corum - both had arm/hand measures the same

Muscular for sure not fat. Will need that muscle in the pros Rice wasn’t that break away guy either but shifty and hard to bring down.

Sports Illustrated has KM as a "Faller" in the draft

"Monangai didn’t test well Saturday despite his impressive collegiate credentials. "

"A first-team All-Big Ten selection this past season, Monangai has a track record of productivity and reliability. He’s a physical, urgent runner with a strong résumé. But Monangai struggled in athletic testing—he ran a 4.6 40-yard dash, had the second-lowest vertical jump of his position at 34.5 inches and the fourth-lowest broad jump at 9-feet, 9-inches. Monangai, who has a small but dense build at 5'8" and 211 pounds, also dropped three passes Saturday. He doesn’t win with athleticism or pass-catching, which limits his upside as a professional."

Anyone that has watched him knows he is not a home run hitter. I didn’t think he would test that well. However, he is quick , has great balance and vision. Football is about how good you are in a 10 yard space, not how fast you can cover 40 yds. He is a tough, instinctive runner. He is excellent in pass protection and is smart. I still think he will be drafted in the 4th or maybe 5th round.

Pacheco as a comparison was strong on combine and weak on season stats.
I've said before if IP ran behind KM's line at RU he would be better in stats
Pacheco was faster (4.37) stronger (27 reps of 225) and bigger at combine but still got drafted 3 spots from last in 7th round.
If he hadn't hit that 4.37 he probably is a UFA

KM had a pretty bad day and GMs don't like to make dice roll picks the media is still teasing them about 5 yrs later.
KM is a good runner in a phone booth but NFL booths have Deter Lawrence, Chris Jones and Myles Garrett (also runs a 4.6)
If I had to bet, I would bet he gets drafted late but if he becomes a UFA it wouldn't surprise me because combine was pretty bad all around.

The problem for KM is there are many talented RBs in this year’s draft. OTOH, RBs in increased demand.
The best thing about KM is not measurable. Even coach Schiano had to be nudged by KM's hs coach to take a chance on him. He wasn't blessed with an NFL build but he worked himself into a fine running back. He most likely will go in a low round because of the workout stats.
