Yeah man . Wimsatt missed his whole senior year.Another negative coming from the professionalization of college sports. Kid can’t even finish his last HS year and play hoops with his friends and teammates.
Not sure I understand the point of an offensive lineman enrolling early, who is going to redshirt anyway.
S&C6 extra months of team bonding, training , development & practice?
Yeah but to miss his last few months of high school …seems kinda dumb. Wimsatt would probably agree6 extra months of team bonding, training , development & practice?
True, but you’re giving up 1/2 your Senior Year. It makes sense if a kid has a really good chance to play right away. But for OLs, who are going to need 2-3 years of development anyway, not sure it makes so much sense.6 extra months of team bonding, training , development & practice?
Early enrollment has been happening for well over a decade.Another negative coming from the professionalization of college sports. Kid can’t even finish his last HS year and play hoops with his friends and teammates.
He gets a head start on S&C and gets to participate in spring practice. He will be farther along this time next year compared to if he waited until summer to enroll. Not sure I understand the point of an offensive lineman enrolling early, who is going to redshirt anyway.
He could if he wanted to do so.Another negative coming from the professionalization of college sports. Kid can’t even finish his last HS year and play hoops with his friends and teammates.
You go tell him no.Another negative coming from the professionalization of college sports. Kid can’t even finish his last HS year and play hoops with his friends and teammates.

Right. 21 other guys doing it and there’s no pressure. I just think it’s kind of sad that we have gotten to this point. Not only do we disconnect these kids from the real college student experience but they even feel they need to cut high school short. No one is forced to enroll early. It's the kid's decision.
Early enrollment has been happening for well over a decad
It’s a lot worse the last 3 years or so.Early enrollment has been happening for well over a decade.
Schiano has made it a point that he encourages the early enrollments to still attend significant events in their HS senior years after enrolling at RU, proms and the like.No one is forced to enroll early. It's the kid's decision.
Kids have been enrolling early for years, decades even.Another negative coming from the professionalization of college sports. Kid can’t even finish his last HS year and play hoops with his friends and teammates.
Some of us actually look forward to moving away from homeNot sure I understand the point of an offensive lineman enrolling early, who is going to redshirt anyway.
No you don’t. And no that’s not happening.I know a bunch of kids that did early enrollment last year, missed final months of senior year with friends, no prom, etc., thrown right into the college mix…then were told to hit the transfer portal in December. We hear so many stories about the kids making serious $$$ but there are so many others that are getting cut from teams and pushed out of schools because there is no time for development and coaches can grab a seasoned older player to plug holes whenever they want.
It happened here. Some kids who enrolled last January are no longer with us.No you don’t. And no that’s not happening.
What’s happening is you are mad at NIL, don’t understand the current landscape and makeup whoever you want to be on the internet to try to will a narrative into place that no one cares about.
Imma say the same thing now as I told you last week, you are 20 years behind
More kids are going to be cut after spring because we have to get to the roster number of 105. I think we gotta stop with the word “professionalization”. The process is done, it’s a pro sport now. Just call it what it isMore kids are going to be cut after spring because we have to get to the roster number of 105. It’s the professionalization of college football.
Not for the reasons of being forced out as freshman after their redshirt season to make room for a transfer.. no we have not been doing that at all Al.It happened here. Some kids who enrolled last January are no longer with us.
Okay everyone knows I'm NOT the biggest fan out here of the current setup of NIL/portal, BUT.....Nobody is forcing the kid to come out of high school early. It's his choice, period, and he had to do the work to get to this point. Most of these kids go back and attend their Sr Prom as well as "Senior Skip Day," anyway, so if this helps them adjust to the physical, social and most importantly MENTAL aspects, of life as a college football "hero," then I'm okay with it I guess.Another negative coming from the professionalization of college sports. Kid can’t even finish his last HS year and play hoops with his friends and teammates.
The rationale isn’t a solace to the kids being cut. Every year the kids are going to have to earn their roster spot, down to kid # 105.Not for the reasons of being forced out as freshman after their redshirt season to make room for a transfer.. no we have not been doing that at all Al.
I’ll actually give your boyfriend, Greg, some credit to sticking to his commitments to these kids
lol...I'm thinking dad wouldn't have gone for that one either, right?Personally, i would have never given up my senior year spring sport.
To each his own 😊
His advice was always “play em all”lol...I'm thinking dad wouldn't have gone for that one either, right?
One kid, White. And the fact that a highly ranked recruit is gone after one year to Georgia Southern, shows there were bigger issues involved. The Luman twins were summer enrollees. It happened here. Some kids who enrolled last January are no longer with us.
Sounds about right! His advice was always “play em all”
I was advised by scouts way back in 1975 to skip football and hockey given my eminent draft status as a 1st round pick.
He was the first one to tell me forget that…play.
Things are different and as you usual, you You don’t know what you’re talking about. We have to be at 105 kids on the roster, including walk-ons. We are above that, including new enrollees. So more kids are going to be cut. It’s a whole new world.Total nonsense. College athletes are not re-evaluated each year to see if they are still worthy of scholarship. I would know…
Again, I’m giving your BF credit here,he sticks with the guys he offers, they don’t always stick with him but that’s not his things work here
And Aris Bethea. Regardless, that’s four kids too many. One kid, White. And the fact that a highly ranked recruit is gone after one year to Georgia Southern, shows there were bigger issues involved. The Luman twins were summer enrollees.
Totally agree - all sports will continue trimming the roster and if they need to plug holes it’s hello transfer portal.More kids are going to be cut after spring because we have to get to the roster number of 105. It’s the professionalization of college football.
Missed Aris, but that is still only two guys who enrolled early and are gone. And Aris Bethea. Regardless, that’s four kids too many.
There could be more after this semester.Missed Aris, but that is still only two guys who enrolled early and are gone.
