I'm actually curious with the players that claim other P5 offers...just why did they select WMU over P5 in the first place?

There would have been at least a few posters who still be unhappy, and criticize the fact that he coached in the bowl game.
i respectfully disagree. We are pretty close to Minny. We played them tough and were a break away from winning the game. Minny in the East would not be a 9 win team.

We won two games this year. We would not have won 9 games in the West. We seriously have the most delusional fan base in America
You completely misunderstood my post. I did not suggest we would win 9 games in the West. I stated that Minny would not win 9 games in the East. We seriously have the most reading comprehension challenged fan base in America.
I guess he goes to ECU if their offer still stands. He's in a tight spot, that's for sure.
I just hope his battery does not die. It was at 6% and in the red zone.
Now Tyler Moore, the sophomore, who is transferring out, this is a guy we should consider. 95% battery on his phone.
He must be a hell of a recruiter. Some people go places where they think they could get on the field. I've seen a lot of jersey kids go to Notre Dame because it's Notre Dame and then just ride pine for 5 years. Maybe if you go to Rutgers, you actually play and then go to the NFL like the McCourty's.
Not sure what's sillier -- people on here waiting to throw roses at P.J. Fleck for everything he does, or people on here waiting to minimize everything he does.
He's a heck of a coach and a tremendous recruiter who was way ahead of the MAC each signing day. If that translates at all in the Big Ten, Minnesota will be fine. And why wouldn't he want the best of his commitments to go with him? He beat two Big Ten West teams with his commits this year.

I understand you said that Minny would not win 9 in the east. I agree with that. But I'm saying we're not on the same level as Minny b/c we wouldn't win 9 in the West. It's the same damn type of comparison. Maybe we would have won 3 this year if we played in the West. If you can make up hypothetical prediction, so can I. We just won 2 freaking games and you're comparing us to a team that won 9 games. I don't care if it's in the West, B1G East, old Big East, AAC. Jesus, how are there ppl saying we're at their level?
I'm with you...I am waiting to see what he really is. He has shown he can recruit but that is playing time over some P5. But..I really want to see his coaching ability when Minn will never be the top half of the conf. He may surprise us and end up great but no way to know yet
This. Several examples of coaches who made the jump to P5 and could not get it done. Here are two recent ones:
1. Sonny Dykes at Cal
2. Darell Hazell at Purdue
It is not the same type of comparison. All I said was we played Minny evenly and were a break away from winning that game. Same with Iowa. Did you watch either of those games? While we are no where near OSU, Mich, etc, we were able to hold our own with Iowa and Minny. That is not speculation, that was proven on the field.
Just to play devil's advocate: They probably did get an ND education and graduated without loans. That's pretty bigly.
Yes! I watched both of those games. But playing them evenly doesn't mean we're almost at their level. We're no where close to being as consistent as those teams. Iowa beat Michigan. You know, that team we lost to 78-0. Yes, we can play with them. We should be able to play with them. But as a whole, we're nowhere close to being as consistent as Iowa or Minny.
It took you a while, but you finally fleshed out your argument:
1. For 60 minutes, we were almost at the level of Minnesota, and for 60 minutes we were almost at the level of Iowa.
2. CONSISTENCY!!! We lack it. In two areas:
CONSISTENCY--- It's a word a lot of coaches use in their press conferences, and it is a most overlooked word. Was listening to an interview by Coach K of Duke interviewing Chris Petersen about UW's season last year versus this year. He said something along the lines of seeing "flashes" of good play, but they could not sustain those flashes and be consistent.
Consistent play comes when players make excellent plays and few errors. Consistent play results from having the depth to replace a consistently excellent player and not seeing a huge drop off in performance. We clearly lacked consistency on the depth chart for the type of offense we ran this year because once we lost Janarion Grant, our offense sputtered badly.
The point is we're not at their level because we're not as consistent as them. We got shut out 4 times this year and beat one FBS opponent. Don't try to play gotcha games with me. You're the delusional on here who thinks a team who won 4 games verse FBS opponents in two years is somehow at the same level as Minny or Iowa. Again, just because we played well against them doesn't mean we're at their level. This is getting stupid. Fort Wayne beat Indiana in basketball, are they at their level? Your whole argument is based on the fact that we played well against them. That is definitely encouraging, but I won't overlook all of the other negatives from this season.
Do you have a reading comprehension problem, do you just like to argue, or do you like to beat dead horses? In my post above, I agreed with you. There were no "gotcha games." I said: "CONSISTENCY!!! We lack it." You said: "we're nowhere close to being as consistent." Where do we disagree?

Sure thats great, but a lot of guys who go to college to play football actually want to play in the game. If you are going to all those practices and working out all year, its nice to see the field. A Rutgers degree with the same zero student loan payback is nothing to sneeze at BTW.
Why is Minn having decommits? Fleck seems like an upgrade over the previous coach.

Looking at Kitrell's profile, he doesn't have great options. I can't think Fleck went cold on him and said to look else where. Not easy to find 6'3 280lbs HS kids who can move. His videos on Hurdl looked ok.
