A lot of early money bet on Washington.

What is the percentage of Vegas being right on opening day vs over the course of the season? If I had to guess, opening day is a bit hazardous...

Well they had Hawaii + 21 against Cal in the opener this year and Hawaii lost by 20. They're 1 for 1 so far.

i had cal -20.... such a dissapointing push. Vegas generally is spot on but obviously has some slip ups. Washington is a very good team. I dont however think -26 on us good. Think the line should be more around 20.5-21.

glad I'm not alone with this line of thinking....

Not in this case my friend. The line is more reflective on what the talking heads are saying, Washington #14 in the country, that's the joke! We will expose them, just tune in.

Look, Washington did lose a few impact players from last season, however, they have a lot more talented players and depth than Rutgers does at this point in time.

They also don't have a new system like RU does.

I expect RU to be able to compete with them in 2017 & prob win at home but not this week.

I don't think anyone is saying that they should not be a healthy favorite, but 26 is a big number.

Today's Rutgers weather forecast: As usual the sky is falling, so watch your head. Even Kansas Jayhawk fans aren't this down on "their team" as much as some of the people here.:chairshot: I don't even know why Rutgers bothers to play the game.:(

That's a fair statement.

I hope I am dead wrong but there are too many unknowns for this RU team for me to have confidence saying it will be a close contest-on the road vs a top rated and highly talented WU squad.
Do you really know what Rutgers brings to the table? How about Washington? If people did less repeating of info from others and actually look at both squads it might open your eyes to this game of football and how it works. Let's get off the soundbites and get into the meat and potatoes of strengths and weaknesses as well as schemes, personnel, etc. I'm sure it will paint a different picture.

Exactly, doug! People here are saying, Washington; "they have a lot more talented players and depth than Rutgers does at this point in time." Really? How do you know that?
I saw Washington last year, watched them on TV. And, guess what, nothing special. You know who scares me over there, their coach. The guy can coach, knows how to make adjustments, and rarely if ever gets surprised.
But, team to team, don't see any advantage. In fact we are stronger on the O line, with better running backs(they have one), and truthfully I'll even take our receivers over theirs.
On Defense their front tree are stout, but we are faster. Our LB's are untested.....but I have a feeling they are faster, and tougher. Just think about it Clayton was a lock at SLB at the end of Spring, then a walk-on Greg Jones beats him out in the summer. The other two, Morris & Roberts have been solidified since Spring, over known names like, Russell, Taylor, Margolis, and Johnson. That say's something. The D Backfield, just count how many coaches have a history in coaching DBacks.
This team will surprise a lot of people.

Vegas consensus has moved up 1/2 point to 26.5 and under has dropped 1/2 pt to 54.5. Taking RU and the under.(more nervous about the under/over)

We'll find out Saturday but I wouldn't count this crop of RU players out. Good coaching, new scheme, no one suspended, no other off the field distractions -- that's a big facelift.

I feel, for the first time in many years, the RU student athletes will play to their potential this year. Past years under the prior staff, ect., is really a poor indiction of what can be.

I am not saying we have a chance to win this game, we will almost certainly lose but I think we can beat that spread.

Time to win some money for the B1G Fund guys
