I believe his dad played football at RU before transferring to Army. He’s a shooter and fills a need. Don’t have any info if we will reach out or not.

IIRC, West Virginia, Seton Hall and Georgetown were the only other east coast schools he considered. Picked UConn largely due to the relationship he had with Raphael Chillious, who began recruiting him while he was at Washington

What I figured.

Given it’s so late and we have room and we showed a little something something and Mathis picked us over them already and its been a terrible week for me so far, can we say we have a chance at him?

Have those schools filled up at this point though?

A kid I'd take a look at is Kenny Jones from Mater Dei .

Committed very early to Loyola Md-----they had a coaching change so he could likely get out of his NLI.

Under recruited PG IMO-----can run an offense and tough defensively

What names have us fans been hearing of?

I don't see why the staff would go after Bandoo if he is not a lead guard.

Holy crap this is the best case scenario

Its great that his father played at RU for a semester, but to me the more important thing is he grew up in long branch. I would imagine then that there is still family in NJ, which would make him comfortable here.

Not only is he a Rivals top 150 player, but he's a legit small forward. Its been so long since we had a bona fide small forward I don't even know what one looks like.

we havent even offered at this point so id pump the breaks a little. Definitely agree he should be looked at and the Long Branch/RU connection is pretty cool. Thanks for the insight

Very good question, and one I do not know the answer to.

The kid has family in Jersey so I'm sure the RU staff will/has reached out to see if the kid has genuine interest in RU.

Higs, Bandoo does play lead guard in Juco. But he is a combo guard who can play lead, not the same way Tai does as a pure lead, but has some experience at the lead guard spot.

Mad,

Gotcha. Interesting then. I could see him as a third guard who is asked to shoot and rebound more given he is an athletic player. Does he handle the ball 60% of the time? That is what Pikiell would be looking for I would think. If you look at people off the ball, you have Kiss, Mathis, Baker, etc. It just wouldn't make perfect sense, but like you said, he does have his experience.

That I do not know, just watched some game film and some highlights.

We need a lead guard whether Corey stays or not.

For sure. Did you like his game?

Tough to say based on JUCO competition. Hawk might have a better read

Higs here is a highlight video of him #2 in white, will look for game footage when I get the chance:

I haven't seen much of Bandoo, but also had to lean on others that saw more of a lot of the prospects that land on the radar here and elsewhere.

This is not a super high bar we have to climb here, if the guard shoots 33-35% from 3, it will be a big improvement from last year to this year.....I know Mathis is a more complete scorer vs Mike Williams, but can he buy in and defend/rebound like he's shown in HS.....If Mathis shoots 30%-33% from 3, that is also an improvement from last 2 years vs this year.

The goal is to have all 4 of your guards capable of 33% or more from 3...Kiss, Baker, Mathis and ideally Sanders, all score enough from 3.....if not Sanders and perhaps Bandoo or TBD......
