i laughedI guess Jesus told him to go to penn state.
Like most of us I am trying to figure out why all of our best recruits were willing to play for the meltdown known as Kyle Flood but are heading for the proverbial hills now. I know that this happens whenever their is a coaching change but this just seems hard to fathom . I know they are 18 year old boys but don't there parents or coaches have any say in this ? What is it about Ash and friends that would drive a kicker away ? I guess they were loyal to the guy who recruited them? Our academics will not change with a new regime we will ultimately be more successful on the field,. We hope. I know this process that we watch every year is far from an exact science but this set of dynamics defies any logic I thought I had absorbed over the years... Maybe we hit some gold, not of the fool's nature , before Wednesday?

PSU fans feel exactly the same way over their plan A kickerGood riddance. What a f'n drama queen and he's a kicker.
The staff (old and new) bent over backwards for this kid and he jumps to PSU when they fart in his direction.
He's very religious and PSU and their fan base need someone to spread God's word. Cesspool.
Personally why all the consternation over a PKer is beyond me....I think tops their worth maybe a half scholly...most are terrified of contact...shoot i could dropkick a 30 yard FG myself at 17....well over half the time...lets get a soccer or rugby guy who's not afraid of contact already here or on a club team if its within the rules. ..use the scholly on a real FB player...Anyone who breaks faith for that Franklin guy obviously lacks something...let him go..Kicking is overrated. We are going to be scoring a lot of touchdowns and going for two point conversions with the new offense.
the church and penn state have been covering up the same issue for years...what a coincidence.
When does the Flood blame game end? The new staff put a lot of energy into this recruit. He was a kicker. Blaming Flood for this loss is silly. The first part of your paragraph makes more sense. Like it or not, we are at the bottom of the B1G pecking order with Indiana and Purdue and Maryland. That is the reason why we lost this recruit. The problem with this decommit is because he's going to Penn St. and they just started to recruit him when their Plan A kicked decommitted. He was just onsite for a visit, Okruch made him a priority and gave him a home visit. The way it looks, we are towards the end in the pecking order if Mich, Mich St., Ohio St., Penn St. offer, it seems that kids will jump to those schools over us. That's just schools in our own division, not to bring up schools like Notre Dame and others who we also play 2nd fiddle too.
Flood and his staff has put us in a gigantic hole and C. Ash and team have a lot of work to overcome. So far, they seem to be working very hard and I think the future looks bright. I hope they can Coach as well as how hard they are working the recruiting trail, time will tell but it's going to take some upsets this year to start changing perceptions.
Sarcasm? If so not well played.Kicking is overrated. We are going to be scoring a lot of touchdowns and going for two point conversions with the new offense.
When does the Flood blame game end?
Most of Flood's best recruits were just holding a spot until they got a better offer, haven't you been paying attention, it happened every year under his watch. It's hard to get a kid to stick with a program he never wanted to be a part of in the first place.Like most of us I am trying to figure out why all of our best recruits were willing to play for the meltdown known as Kyle Flood but are heading for the proverbial hills now.
