The buzz quite a bit different than last year. Not exactly sure why.

Yes.
No buzz here because it's not a B1G team.
We are inching closer to the crappiest time to be a sports fan with nothing worth watching on TV.(I don't like the NBA)

Aka, baseball season.

Somehow , and I'm not sure if even possible, the NCAA or D1 P5 leaders need to make the Championship game on New Years Day NIGHT, and the Semi Finals a week or so before. Start the season a week earlier if needed.

Its an all southern championship game.

Not many folks from the Pac 12 and Big Ten will care.

Sorry, there's no buzz because college football should be over. I hate the playoff format. The big game should be on New Years Day or the day after.

Lots of buzz in SEC/ACC country. College football is King 365 days a year down south.

I think the lack if buzz is in part because both of the play in games were blowouts and nothing exciting about them..

I'll be watching but will retire early if Bama starts to pull away.

Again..why? I don't get the rush to end the season anymore than the rush to limit bowls.

Yup. Best thing about baseball is it's like a soap opera. You can watch sporadically or a bit at a time and you never lose interest.

Hmm, I never have interest in either. So I guess baseball is like a soap opera...

Guess you are single....Revenge, how to get away with murder, Scandal, etc. All HAPPILY married men watch at least one of these.

Married happily 18 years, but no soap operas. My wife us not a fan of those either :)

Well I'll be watching. If I'm going to watch every single, meaningless Tue, Wed and Thur night game during the season, and new Bowl games with 5-7 teams, you can be damn sure I'll be watching Bama vs Clemson and hoping for a cliff hanger and something dramatic to occur.

This game reminds me a bit of the first couple of Super Bowls, when the NFL and AFL weren't quite sure how to market it.

What the hell do you watch? If I give my wife 3 or 4 hours of nonsense TV every week, I get of watch college football all day every Saturday, every Thursday and Friday night game, and most Tuesday and wed night MAC games. Plus every bowl game uninterrupted

its my one night a year that I eat white castles!! always have a small party and call it the "crave case" game!!

I am in Phoenix and heading to the game tomorrow. The city does not seem as amped as last time it was held here -auburn Oregon.

Yep, the best thing to happen to men with their ability to watch multiple games at one sitting, are TV shows like the Kardashians, ALL the Housewife shows and of course old stand by Soaps! Thank you!!

There is zero buzz and no hype for the game this year. To be honest, it is really hard to care about who wins this one.

I had to look it up to see what day it was going to be on, so it is tonight.

So I will watch in between other stuff.

Last week mentioned something to someone in reference to the game and couldn't even remember who was playing. Maybe it's because ru didn't bowl, but last season feels like ancient history. In my mind I've already moved on to next year.

So no, won't be watching.

6+ weeks is way too long a break.

Did you know... Clemson HC William Swinney was given the nickname "Dabo"by his parents as a result of his younger brother calling him "that boy"? So to this day, a grown man is known as and called "Dabo." Got to love the "deep" South.

He was born in AL and graduated from... the University of Alabama, the institution that will beat his Clemson team in tonight's National Championship game.

I guess you didn't watch any of the football this weekend either as they were promoting the crap out of it. Especially the K.C. / Houston game on Espn/ABC. They pushed it every commercial break and in game too. But we all know how ESPN/ABC loves to self promote

He himself didn't know his real name until 3rd grade when he was given a form for a state run test and the name William was on it. He said his name was Dabo and the teacher explained to him that William was his real name. He was clueless until then

Nope. I go to bed at 9pm. I won't even bother watching the start.

They want west coast eye balls on a MONDAY NIGHT with a 8:30+pm start for advertising dollars? Be my guest. I'll be wide awake for work tomorrow.

(The last NC game I have seen was when the U lost to OSU)

Because the 9-10 days since the last games felt like the end to the season. The NFL can get away with time off before the Super Bowl because it's a non stop media week -- and many people think they take it too far. College didn't exactly have a media blitz leading up to the game. Commercials on ESPN aren't what I'm talking about. I mean stories in the newspapers, segments on tv.

Maybe it's different in certain areas of the country, but I haven't seen much at all about the big game in news sites around the east coast.

Btw, If you like physical sports, have you tried watching hockey? It still seems weird to me that so many football fans hate hockey. To me it's the most exciting sport there is.

I like hockey and make sure to take the kids to a few games a year but can't really get Into it until playoffs. Just too many games for me

Turn on GMA this morning. You will get tons of self promotions for ESPN. Just had a 4 min promo with Jesse Palmer live at the site

I love pond hockey. I love(d) Olympics hockey until the greedy hacks allowed them to play on NHL ice during the Vancouver Olympics. NHL hockey is like watching 10 cats fight in a milk crate. Your "stars" don't have the puck longer than 3sec before getting blasted. It is brutal to watch. To this layman I can't actually tell who is good or who is average out there.

*I do got to Harvard/Northeastern/BU games once in a while. They aren't as fast so they can actually skate with the puck longer than 3 seconds.

Sorry to disappoint. I've been happily married for 32 years and don't watch that garbage. Life is too short to waste it on nonsense.

I agree with you regarding the Olympics. I haven't watched them since it went from amateur to professional participants. I love the World Juniors, which just ended. Team USA won the bronze. They need to learn how to beat Russia.

I think from the standpoint of tradition as well as marketing, cfb has done itself a huge disservice by de-emphasizing New Year's day. It was always the one day of the year that college football owned; a holiday filled with generally great games and some compelling matchup. This year we saw the play in games on New Year's eve instead and a watered down lineup on New Year's day. Really diminished the overall bowl season imo

Nothing on that's better, so I'll watch. But if the game runs late I'll turn it off and hit the sack

to tell you the truth Im not all that interested. Loved the bowls around New Years but already moved on as we are deep in college hoops season and I don't care for any of the two schools in the championship
