OT: Official 2025 PGA Tour thread

His older brother played golf for Stanford. His younger brother is a freshman at Princeton. He was part of their Top 20 ranked recruiting class.

Duke
Stanford
Princeton

Not too shabby to play golf for or get a degree from lol.

Who could have thought that PGA National would surrender a 59!! It's beyond belief that there was no wind on the East Coast of Florida in late February. Low scores should be the same today as there is no wind this morning as well.
Chris Gotterup is tied for 94 and is out on the course now.

He's Birdied his last 4 holes (12-15), going from +1 to -3. The cut is currently -4. It could go to -5 so he's still got a lot of work to do.

Chris lipped out a 27' Birdie putt on 16 and made Par on 17. He missed the green with his 2nd on the Par 5 18 but came thru with a long pitch and sank a 4' Bird, shooting a 5 under 66. At -4 for the 2 Rounds it's sit back and wait for the cut line.

There are 17 players, who finished their round, at-4. That's a big number.

In case you're not aware, this is a great model that's updated in real time that gives the projected cut every week. Also has projections on every player.

Currently has it as a 65% chance of moving to -5, and 35% chance of the -4's being ok.

Great playing!

Chris has had some success on this course twice. During his year at Oklahoma, he won the 2022 Puerto Rico Classic on this course. That got him a spot into this PGA event where he finished T7. He also missed the cut last year.

The article makes it out to be minor but any Achilles surgery on a guy almost 50 will take time. Majors are over in July so I can’t see how he plays competitively in any of them.

Tiger is never coming back. At no point since the car accident that mangled his leg has he been anything even remotely close to tour ready. He’s just not going to be competitive at that level anymore. If he wants to win he’s going to need to set his sights on the senior tour.

Only a year away (actually less) before he is eligible for the Senior Tour. If he can return and be in the hunt at times the popularity of the Senior Tour will explode.
