B1G Portal Update

Teddy Allen of Nebraska to New Mexico State. Is that where Little Pitino is?

Yup. I posted that earlier.
He’s a potential Top 10 pick.

was a no brainer as was expected to be 2 and done the day he enrolled and had a big year. Michigan knew which is why they took a transfer to fill scholarship allocation.

CJ went back to Kentucky where he was the Gatorade player of the year and led Covington Catholic to the State Championship.

B1G players still available that were at least part-time starters:

Cincinnati 7’1” center Chris Vogt to Wisconsin.
Sneaky good pickup with Reuvers and Potter leaving. Vogt was really good two years ago. Not so good last year but that team was a mess and they hated their coach who was apparently an abusive a-hole.

Eh, even in his “good” year he was a poor defender and not great for his size rebounder.Last year he was absolutely terrible. Simply just size for Wisco, who is lacking depth there, so maybe he can give them 10 minutes. But really not a B1G quality player.

I don't know but 7'1" is still 7'1" and can get an occasional put back, grab a couple of boards and give a few fouls....I think Crowl is the likely starting center and this kid gives a good layer of 18 to 22 minutes depending on the matchup.

Gard usually does a good job hiding what his roster can and can't do. I can see this kid landing somewhere around 7PPG and 5 to 6 boards very easily.

Both Gach (Minnesota) now in the portal. They're down to one guy back from last year's team.

“The Scarlet Knights have been stung by the portal with Myles Johnson heading to UCLA and Jacob Young still in the portal. Montez Mathis also left for St. John’s. Aundre Hyatt, a 6-foot-6 guard who is a native of the Bronx, arrives via LSU, where he averaged 4.2 points and 3.2 rebounds per game”.

Mich State transfer Forrest Loyer to Davidson. Indiana’s Jerome Hunter will not return.

Foster Loyer was terrible. I can’t believe he was starting for a while. Davidson at least is a little bit of a step down for him.

Tre Mitchell is the wild card, probably $EC bound at this stage.

Indiana has a wild mix of me-first type of players and there's only 1 basketball to shoot. Durr is a solid pickup, I still will be setting my watch, waiting for the whining and groans from the Assembly Hall crowd and Twitter-verse with every wild 1 on 2 or 3 Xavier Johnson adventure driving into traffic in transition.

Miller Kopp leaving Northwestern for Indiana makes sense if they are willing to move the ball.....but Indiana is still a roster that doesn't defend anyone off the dribble at the guard position....Kopp isn't going to stop anyone and Xavier Johnson has potential to be a great defender, but Durr could help keep Trayce Jackson-Davis away from having to defend, score and rebound against everyone. Losing Jerome Hunter on the defensive side, also makes Indiana more offensive and less defensively focused.

All things considered, in mid May, the B1G has taken some considerable hits on talent, so I would expect a drop-off from the best league to probably 3rd behind the Big 12 and SEC....still looks like a 8 bid NCAA league for the B1G right now.

Great, I hope Hunter leaves for the NBA. He was much older than the average freshman this past year anyway. Good luck to him.
