That Maryland score really stood out. They looked so good when I saw them the other day.

Diamond... true baller. Hard to say she didn't make the right choice heading to NC State. Unfortunate for us.

I know I shouldn't do this, but I just can't help but think........What would this group look like if being led by Diamond? Might we be undefeated? Or would we still be in disarray most of the time? I, personally lean toward the former.

Getting back to reality, I'll just have to move on from what could have been and focus on what is.

What ifs are nice during troubling times, but what if CVS was coaching this squad and not Tim.
Would the results be better..
As good as Diamond is, she wouldn't help like she could if the bad play was a result of poor coaching.
What if the current team is better than they look now, but the way they're being used makes them look bad and play beneath their talent.

I'm with you on the last "What if" of this post. As you seen in my posts, I am a strong believer in the talent that is assembled on this team, from the transfers to the returners and also the lone freshman this year. That's why my critique of the coaching staff has been bordering on harsh.

But don't think for a second that we wouldn't be better with Diamond running the point. The chaos that we have seen is something that her skills equip her to flourish through regardless and still get buckets. As good as our current roster may be, none of them are on Diamonds level. She is good enough to neutralize a poor offensive plan to a degree. Offense is our problem. Just think of what Cappie, Piph, and I'll also include Matee(to some degree) did during CViv's pass it around til the shot clock was about to expire offense. Countless times they bailed us out right before the shot clock went off because they could create their own shot.

Tyler Scaiffe was another who could do that, but during her years, Viv did open up the offense a lot more so it didn't come down to that as much.

We're really hurting this year because we don't have one of those on the roster. Maybe Lasha could be, but Tim has kind of made her hesitant to be aggressive on offense and the ball is often in Jailyn's hands at the end of the shot clock.

As for your first "what if" ......if CVS was coaching and not Tim........As I stated earlier, I'm not sure the results would be much different because she has not been the offensive guru that this team seems to need. But I do think that she would stick to a shorter rotation, which if the right players are in it, could have won those games.

Our best players, outside of Osh and Jailyn, aren't given a chance to get in a flow and are probably playing with concern that they are about to come out of the game for a long stretch. That is not good at all for getting the best out of a player.
