I forgot to mention to you guys that they don't let any bags into the stadium. A small purse (4" x 6" x 1") is allowed but that's it and they measure at the gate. This includes camera cases, binocular cases, etc. Just crazy. So, if your going to walk around with some beer put it into something that you do not expect to see again. I have left backpacks in the parking lot and retrieved after the game but that shouldn't be your plan.

I was told NFL style clear bags are allowed as well which is what is allowed at Rutgers.

The policy. They talk about a gallon size bag. Not sure if they mean a zip-loc or the clear NFL standard hand bags. Don't count on their folks being as lenient as our gate keepers, but who knows?
My practice is if I can't get it in my pocket I don't need it in the stadium.

I don't see any prohibition on Tin Foil hats, so I'll be safe from the cult mind control beam.

NFL standard is fine. They distributed NFL style bags with PSU logos to season ticket holders last year as an example.

Cargo pants are the way to go. The lines can be very long for bag check. Even if you have a seat cushion you have to go through the bag check. I recommend getting in line no later then 7:30 if you don't want to miss kick off.

Nope. No umbrella either.

Penn State Bag Policy for Beaver Stadium

One clear plastic one-gallon plastic bag per person will be permitted for:
• Medical needs
• Child care needs
• General items as needed (see below)

Items that can fit in a pocket should remain in patrons' pockets (i.e. keys, cell phone, wallet, glasses, camera, sunscreen, lip balm, make-up). General items of this nature, including those that don't fit in patrons' pocket, can also be placed in a clear plastic one-gallon plastic bag.

There are vendors who make commercially available clear plastic bags equal to a one-gallon bag. Some of these provide carrying straps. These are acceptable as well.

All clear bags will be inspected through the bag and article check stations as in prior years.

Those patrons without bags are able to bypass the bag and article check stations at most gates as in prior years.

Fans are able to bring loose items, including:
• Coat
• Wristlet with or without a strap (no larger than 4" x 6" x 1")
• Blanket
• Seat cushion that can be rolled and that does not have pockets
• iPad or other mobile devices
• Camera (no camera bag)
• Binoculars

Babies may be brought into Beaver Stadium in a soft baby carriers or a sling. Rigid frame baby and toddler carriers, as well as strollers, are not permitted.

No other bags are permitted including:
• Backpacks

• diaper bags
• messenger bags
• camera bags
• brief cases
• roll bags
• or any other bags

Bags for equipment and computers for those working the event, such as the press, media photographers, etc. are permitted. These bags will be checked and tagged upon entrance at the Employee Entrance or the Media Gate.

I've seen the map and there are about a million yellow lots, but how long is the walk from the lot? I want to be in line by 7:30.

Stuff your socks (wear long pants) with little airline bottles of your favorite booze to mix with Coke.

The farthest probably 20 minutes. Even the farthest lot are less then 2 miles. If you want to see pregame which I recommend because the pagentry is what makes college football great I would say try for 7:150

What's the bathroom situation there?
Terrible. Lines aren't bad for men's room but the facilities are terrible. You can pea and be back in 10-15 minutes if you leave immediately after final play of the half.

What's the bathroom situation there?

Well it was built in 1960 and is in the middle of cow fields, so...

Bathroom situation for tailgating is port-a-potties. It's fine for most games (especially for guys), but all bets are off for an 8 PM kickoff. There are also restrooms in the Bryce Jordan Center, I'm not sure what times that will be open on Saturday.

Bathrooms in the stadium are old and have no hot water, which isn't much fun in November. If you like peeing in a trough that runs the entire wall, this is the place for you.

20 minutes is a good rule of thumb (unless you're stuck in the far lower yellow lots which might be a little longer). Grab a beer or two to go and enjoy the walk.

I'll just turn my ped state shirt inside out.
How do you expect the local crowd to react to the ped St shirts?

Honestly, why? We have some PSU fans here being helpful and answering questions so that people are prepared for the game. They aren't putting us down, aren't pumping up their team but genuinely seem to try and be helping and yet bring that up.

Because it's a joke. I'll be on my couch. My parents are actually going with a big Penn State group from Jersey, the penn state fans have been great to my parents getting them tickets, getting them a place to stay.

I see several others have answered the basics. Not sure where you will be sitting as I usually sit along the sidelines about 30 rows up so I use the ground floor restrooms, which are at best disgusting. Anyway, like most stadiums when you exit through the tunnel you find the restrooms on the inside wall and those will have a VERY long line...all of them. However, there is a second row of restrooms about 50 feet further from the stadium. The doors face outward so you can't see the entrances from the main walkway. Walk around the block wall and you'll find restrooms with NO lines just 50 feet from those with lines 200 feet long. Can't help if you're upstairs.

While this is true for the ground level restrooms, the ones on the upper level are new and modern and actually very nice. I'm assuming most Rutgers fans will be sitting in the upper decks so be sure to use the facilities up there not the ones on the ground floor. I usually make it a point to go to the upper ones before the game starts.

is there a particular zone or lot outside the stadium where I could likely find a last minute ticket?

Most of the scalpers and people with extra tickets usually hang out on Curtin Road between the stadium and the Bryce Jordan Center. You shouldn't have too much problem finding someone selling them there.

We'll be up in row 95 in NJU section, so I'm assuming a long walk to the restrooms?

Not that long, you'll need to walk to the bottom of the ramp then cut across the open area between your section and the east side of the stadium. The restrooms are right there. I'd guess, once you get out of the seating area, it's maybe a 30 yard walk (don't go the whole way down to the ground level, stay up on the upper level). There's also a concession stand in the open area between your seats and the restrooms.

"A small purse (4" x 6" x 1") is allowed but that's it..."

sure....and then all the internet pix start being posted of RU guys headed into the stadium carrying a murse. Not going to full me!

If there early, just walk around the lots and hold up your hand when approaching tailgates. Tons of last minute cancellations from family and friends so tickets are usually easy to get. If I arrive a little later I go to the area outside the Northeast corner. Always tickets available from scalpers and others just dumping extra tickets.

Since the stadium is very large and mostly benches I don't worry about getting everyone a ticket together. Take what you can find then look for open spots nearby. If it doesn't work for the first half it will work for the second half...everytime. No else cares and if they do care just disband to a different section. Certainly the Rutgers section will let you squeeze in so to speak.

Now that is information one can use. Thanks.
