Casino @ Delaware Park currently has the Rutgers O/U at 3.5 wins. I picked the over at -120. I laid a nickel down yesterday.

I see Tex St, Illinois and Kansas as confident victories.

Maryland, Indiana and Buffalo are all winnable games, and I personally think we take 2.

Don't count us out against Northwestern. Rutgers has a history of overachieving against ranked programs that aren't "Blue Blood" programs. I've said it before, I truly feel, we all, as a culture, look to the front of those jerseys and psyche ourselves out prior to the game.

That being said, I go into this bet not expecting victories against tOSU, UM, MSU, Wisky and ttfp. But I am cautiously optimistic that at some point we will probably just luck ourselves into one of those wins.

I win, I make my season ticket money back. We don't win 4 games WITH THIS SCHEDULE, maybe it is time to give up on the program (I won't bc I am delusional).

LOL. I can get Rutgers at 1 MEELLION!!! to 1 to win the National Championship.

3.5 seems a bit low considering our OOC schedule.. 4.5 would have been my guess.
We better not lose to Buffalo...

How do those odds compare to MegaMillions?

I think Mega Millions has a better chance.

Unless...

Rutgers Nation rallies in support of the program and goes Tanya Harding on about 500 college football players scheduled to play against us.

Just throwing it out there - LOL.

I'd like to see an assignment of probabilities of each game and then compare to the 3.5 number

Texas State 99%
@OSU 1%
@ Kansas 40%
Buffalo 70%
Indiana 40%
Illinois 75%
@md 30%
NW 15%
@WISC 1%
MICH 2%
PSU 1%
@ MICH ST 1%

Total 3.75 wins

Actually doing a little more research on others research...

Texas State 97%
@OSU 1%
@ Kansas 70%
Buffalo 60%
Indiana 20%
Illinois 70%
@md 25%
NW 4%
@WISC 1%
MICH 3%
PSU 1%
@ MICH ST 1%

Total 3.53 wins

Am I doing the math right - if you win you get about ~$420? That's enough to cover parking and hotdogs/drinks, not season tickets. Anyway, hope you are right.

Yeah, I sit in the section about 15 rows from the tunnel. Tix come out to about $55/game. I split the parking with my large tailgate crew.

Maybe he meant a "big nickel" ($5000) not a "nickel" ($500). I believe RU gets 4-5 wins this year, so seems like a good bet with any money you don't care about losing, since we all know it's entirely possible we crap the bed and win 3.

I'm thinking he is a big player and by a nickel he meant $5 million large dollareenies

Interesting - I saw your Texas State percentage and thought it was too high (was thinking 75% or so). But the current money line of -1100 equates to an implied probability of over 90%.

So why am I scared of the opener?

OK then. We're gonna need travel money for twenty strong young men and 20 pieces of rebar. Every guy will need to make approximately 25 "visits". LOL

20 of us from this board could beat Texas State.

I bet on over 3.5 at -110 on my betonline account... Then odds came out from my local bookies and the idiot had it an 3 -130 so I bet that too. Only was to lose is 2-10 or worse.

I wouldn't bet anything. We have an injury prone senior QB and an unproven freshman QB with no playing experience. Our third option at QB can run, but can he pass? Talented, but unproven receivers? Lack of depth at some key positions? I want us to win more than anyone, but let's be realistic:

-With the exception of Texas State, there are no "gimme" games on our schedule, including an improved Buffalo team (who went 6-6 last year and lost four of their games by 3 or fewer points), and especially Indiana, who we lost to 41-0 last year.

-I think that three games is our over/under victory total this year (wins over Texas State, Kansas, and Illinois). I would be happy to win four or five games, but I'm not very confident. I think that we are a year away from having a good team. I hope that I'm wrong, but I'm trying to be realistic. I think that McNulty's offense, combined with Sitowski's game experience and the development of our receivers could make 2019 a breakout year, but I'm not convinced we will win more than three or four games this year.

Year 3 of this coaching regime and we’re reasonably discussing whether 4 wins is possible. Such is the life of a Rutgers fan

No one predicted RU would lose to Eastern Michigan and beat Purdue and Maryland.

Seems like a reasonable bet. QB play has been horrible the last couple years. At least you have 3 somewhat viable options now.

It will come down to O and D line. Depth and does anyone unexpectedly step up and have a big year. Seesm like recruiting has been poor.
