Are the semis tonight?

LOL, I can't believe you really don't know this, knowing the Superfan that you are and how close you are to the team... Yes, Tonight 7pm on BTN plus:

Semi finals Championship Round

141: #3 Anthony Ashnault vs. #7 Danny Sabatello (PUR)

165: #4 Anthony Perrotti vs. #1 Isaac Jordan (UW)

First round Wrestlebacks :

125 McCabe (8) v Garrison White, unseeded NW
133 Giraldo (10) v Bruno, unseeded , Michigan
149 Dippery unseeded v Blanton Indiana unseeded
157 Lewis (3) v Petrone unseeded
174 Bakuckas (9) v Siga (10)
184 Gravina v Irick , unseeded Ind
197 Hrymack (7) v Masengale unseeded Indiana
285 Smith (5) v Herida, unseeded Md.

Ash and Perrotti will be at MSG. The other 8 weights are still alive and all have possible, though maybe not probably, paths to becoming national qualifiers.

Here's how I see the odds (just my best guess, corrections and differing opinions welcome)

125 ~ 35% needs a win against White NW (60%) + a win against Oliver IN (30%) or a win against either Youtsey MI or Jimenez WI (50%).

133 ~ 75% needs a win over Bruno MI (50%) or win mini tourney for 9th with Malone NW, Shepard IN & Welch PUR (50%)

149 ~ 40% needs a win over Blanton IN (60%) and a in over Langerderf IL or Burcher tOSU (66%)

157 ~ 85% needs a win over Petrone NW (100%) and a either a win over Berger NE (66%) or following a loss a win against either Ryan tOSU or Kingsley MN for 7th (60%)

174 ~ 95% needs a win over Sliga NW (95%) or following a loss a win against 3 other dudes for 9th

184 ~ 90% needs a win against Frick IN (99%) and a win over either Christensen WI (80%) or following a loss a win against Courts tOSU (50%)

197 ~ 25% needs a win against Messengale IN (99%) and a win against Martin tOSU (25%)

285 ~ 99% needs a win against Hemida MD (99%) and a win against Horwath (95%)

less than 6 would be a disaster. anything over 7 would be tremendous. I think it'll be 7, but I'm trying to stay conservative with expectations. the team's in good shape so far tho. looking forward to rest of the tournament.

Need a strong finish for the team to carry over into the NCAA and for next season.
Giraldo needs to figure out a way to win 2 so he gets more experience for next season.
Gravina should win a few matches (I expect him to get stronger throughout tourney)
AP needs a better showing against Jordan... I don't remember him being close to a TD and he got ridden last time they faced.
A B10 title is there for AA.....Guilbon is very dangerous (He is a former all american) and he showed the Freshman from OSU what B10 tournament wrestling is about.
Lewis will be hard pressed to get 3rd (Should be almost a lock for 5th)

Very excited to watch the next session

Ashnault couldn't have asked for a better path to a championship than he has now. If his knee holds up he has a great shot at a B1G title.

Giraldo losing 1-0 in 3rd. his offense simply disappeared over the last month

Giraldo over Bruno!! Giraldo started shooting a lot and getting aggro towards end of match.

See I posted who does Giraldo get now before the match was over. Who does he get?

Hopefully move up from 7th place. Need Ash to win. AP may be too much to hope for....BUT ya never know !

4 for 4. 4 more to go, all very winnable, which will mean all 10 Knights place top 8 in the 16 team B1G. gotta keep the momentum going.

McCabe needs to win 1 more match and Dippery needs to win his next match to get a bid
(7 spots at 125 and 6 spots at 149)

Last years experience in this tourney is coming back to pay huge dividends. It's almost like we were shell shock last year(understandable), it's much tougher and demanding then anything the EIWA offered. A year wiser and wrestling tougher. It's a good sign for the NCAA's.

McCabe has a killer in Oliver. I saw him wrestle Rothingler and he killed him. Very fast and great on his feet. Sean needs to bring a club in this fight.
