Does everyone wrestle one time tomorrow for their final place?

Does everyone wrestle one time tomorrow for their final place?

Only the guys who have lost twice -- McCabe and Backuckas. They will wrestle for 7th tomorrow. The rest of our guys all only have one loss, and are still alive for third place. They will face a semifinal loser, and if they lose that they will be in the 5th place match. If they win that (all will be an underdog) they will be in the third place match.

Its an incredible showing. Wit the obvious exception of perrotti, I coud not be happier for the team, and for our coaches. They have worked incredibly hard to get us here.

Abro.... Thanks a lot for all your updates!!! Very much appreciated!!!

You're welcome. I did it for 2 sites simultaneously, this one and TOS Premium for both Big 10 Tourny and NJ States, lol. My eyes are pretty tired right now. And the kicker is I have to go to a baptism tomorrow so may miss the finals of both lol. I'm tempted to fake an illness, but not sure I have the heart to do that. My wife might not be too happy, lol. I'll just bring my Ipad and Iphone, and make my brother put on the Big10 Finals on his 75 inch Hi Def TV. What time you think the finals finally start ? I'm guessing/hoping around 4:30 after the consys and then Award presentations.

Outstanding day for the program. 9 qualifiers with a chance for a tenth certainly exceeds expectations. Hope AP is OK.

Will one of you please go to your free board and tell them what they are missing? Not one wrestling thread.

To many important topics going on like LASIK, sandwich shops, Aruba trips, the stock market crashing. Can't compete with important topics like that. There is also a post somewhere about how many days should one wear a dress shirt before washing.

How'd Perrotti get hurt? The comments on here don't sound good. Hope he can wrestle at MSG but even if he does it sounds like he'll be far from healthy unless he has a miraculously speedy recovery. Sucks big time.

He got in on a deep shot and appeared that he was going to score the TD and just collapsed on the mat. At first I thought his shoulder popped but I honestly don't know. I think somebody mentioned ribs. After a long break he resumed and looked tentative, was taken down and just fell to the mat in pain and had to end the match.

It was weird...he was deep on a single..next thing he's lying on the ground holding his ribcage....hoping he didn't tear something in there...

If you have B10 Plus go to the match on mat 4 session 1 at the 186 mark on the tape.In the match against Welch with 33 seconds left in the first period he tries to roll from bottom and appears to come up in pain. At the end of the first period he again holds his side and appears to be in some pain. I am guessing he hurt it then or earlier and aggravated it against Jordan. Hopefully he will be alright for the NCAA tournament.

Yeah I figured. I hate to mess up the good vibes on potentially qualifying 10, but this is a total disaster. Perrotti was peaking at the perfect time, his confidence was sky high and he has the talent to back it up. He was a strong threat to make the NCAA final at 165 if the brackets worked out okay. At least the semi. The next step for Rutgers is to break a guy through to the finals, and Perrotti was our best shot at doing that. Horrible, horrible luck.

Not to mention, him being a senior, I feel just terrible for him. One can only imagine how much this means to an average college athlete, let alone a guy like Perrotti who eats, sleeps and breathes wrestling. You know he thought he could beat Deiringer and win a title this year. Truly awful to see with all of the hard work these guys put in.

Still qualified for NCAA's. He can rebound hopefully in two weeks. Not done yet.

This. Let's see how it plays out. Definitely puts a huge damper on things, but Ash can still take home a B1G title and others can still place high today.

But you do have to feel for the kid. You can see he wanted it badly this year.

You are absolutely correct. He did it against Welch, rib pulled away from cartilage so who knows. Sucks. This kid is like my adopted son and it breaks my heart to see him first lose to Jordan who I think he could have upset. Great kid and I pray he heals fast enough but it will be tough.

who didn't make it?

We had three fringe guys coming in: Gulibon, Morelli and Nevills. My hope was that we could get one to qualify for NCAAs and Gulibon did so (in remarkable fashion). PSU had 6/7 of their semi finalists advance to the finals:

125 Nico (what a great win for him)
141 Gulibon (shocked)
149 Retherford
157 Nolf
174 Nickal
197 McIntosh

thing with rib injury is that you cannot practice wrestling effectively with that injury. when my shoulder popped out, i can still do my cardio and stuff, but rib...it hurts with every move.

this sucks, for he was going to AA again...

If there is a sharp edged piece of cartlidge near the lung or any other vital organ, then he will be shut down to heal for quite some time.

PSU "only" has 8
2 to 4 Probably NCAA CHamps
5 to 6 Probable AA's (Guilbon has the talent, but has had a down year)

I feel sorry for PSU....Maybe they can improve their marginal recruiting ad talent they have coming in next year

Thanks for the info guys. Horrible news & luck. I've separated my ribs & cracked them wrestling. Even breathing was very painful. You'd rather have just about any other inury, like a knee or shoulder that you could at least manage somewhat. I feel so bad for him as he had a great shot to make a run to the finals. Hope he can give it a go but it'll be very difficult.

@wngarbarini if it's separated ribs, have Perrotti & coaches look at getting him prolotherapy or PRP ASAP, if it can be done there, like early this week, as it helps repair collagen on ligaments & tendons. Dr. Grote (Blair team dr & wrestled @ Cornell) at Sparta Medical, Dr. Kripsak in Bridgewater or Dr. Jay Bowen.
