Big donors not in courtside seats this year

Interesting. It appears he no longer has an X/Twitter account. His account name was jeff_towers

There is someone who has that account name now, but it's not him. The person who has it now created the account last month (Dec 2024).

Actually the Jeff_towers account says it was created in July 2013, but all posts have been deleted.

We also noticed that Jeff & Amy have only been to one game this season. 🫤

Very informative interview with Amy Towers from earlier this month, about her philanthropy & new role as chairperson of the BOG:

Basketball players don't want to be bothered with fans going in and out of the APC
And no one thought of this during design. There was no corridor built from the parking to the arena that didn't go through the same entry that players use, or didn't go through an open entry space that connects to the rest of the building.

Just wasn't well thought out.

She’s chair of the Board of Governors. She runs the university right now. They’ve hardly dropped off the scene.

They no longer come to basketball games for their courtside seats.

Jeff has wiped every Tweet from his account.

While Amy was never a prolific Tweeter, she hasn't Tweeted in a little over 3 months.

Yes, Amy is busy being chair of the BOG & her philanthropy but she was busy being on the BOG & her philanthropy last year & they were at most MBB games & they were both Tweeting.

They have dropped off the scene which is why it's been noticed & this thread was started.

I mean Amy is in the middle of leading a search to find our next school President (and thank God, I have faith she is going to do a good job leading that, especially given her "outsider" perspective). That has to be pretty taxing.

The point of the post wasn't to begrudge the Towers
They've given millions to the university and are still active on the academic side

But they were staples at games for a long time in courtside seats
Now, they're nowhere to be found
This was the year to write the checks. Whatever it took. Once in lifetime pair on the banks. They needed a strong supporting cast.
