There was a lot of talk on TV after we beat Minnesota about how we just avoided joining BC as the only teams from a major conference to go winless in league. They also mentioned that BC's football team went winless in the ACC as well. I'll be honest, I haven't followed them very closely since they went to the ACC and I knew the conference change hurt them. But I didn't realize they had slipped this badly! Anybody who followed this closer know exactly what happened with them?

It's called "recruiting"....or lack thereof.

Mistake No. 1 BC fired Al Skinner

Mistake No. 2 BC hired Steve Donahue, who moved over from Cornell.

Donahue’s arrival meant the departure of what was regarded as a solid recruiting class and the transfer of forward Rakim Sanders to Fairfield.

Donahue won 54 games in four seasons at BC but he won 21 of those games in his first season. He just was not a HM head coach. Donahue is at Penn now.

BC replaced Donahue with Jim Christian, who moved over from Ohio. Christian has yet to recruit any impact players to BC.

Al Skinner is wrapping up his first season as the head coach of the Kennesaw State Owls. I am hoping he will get that program going, as it is local to me.

Shows it takes time at some of these schools. Penn State coach might be fired if at RU. Took Williard six years too.

Rutgers is BC. Extremely hard to recruit in your own backyard. Few recruits want to play for a dead program with no muscle to attract recruits in the same manner as its competitors. Don't see jucos committing to BC either. Big disadvantage.

Skinner's staff was amazing. Ed Cooley and Bill Coen.

There are similarities between BC and Rutgers, particularly with regards to local recruiting. BC's problem is that there just aren't many local kids with ACC level talent.

Most of the HM New England prep school kids come from somewhere else.

BC has one assistant who has a good eye for talent and is a tireless recruiter. He got them Ty Graves, an under the radar big man from South Florida named Nikola Popovic and a guy named Mike Sagay.

He also recruited a kid named Matt Milon to BC. Milon is a freshman who comes off the bench and is shooting 48 percent beyond the arc.

They have a former HC, Stan Heath, as an assistant. I'm not sure what Heath's biggest strength is, probably game prep, as many people (not me) question his recruiting.

Shields

Either that or he would be extended-----depends on who was the AD ?

Chambers does a good job----PSU is just not a place where hoops is a priority----never has been.

They're getting better .

Did Chambers have the Rice crap? And yes I believe he should be fired. Didn't Lebron James say after Rice crap he would never send his kid to Rutgers?

Just saw a replay of a BC senior in post game interview break down when asked about his best memory of BC bball. His answer - "going out to eat". Classic!

Even more classic in context, the entire team got the shits at Chipotle this year. So i guess he was moved by that.

swap places with UConn. that would be the ultimate form of justice.

The ACC seems not to want anything to do with UConn. That could change since the ACC snatches up old BE teams like I change socks
