Brown Scratched From NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships

Sometimes runners injuries are nagging injuries they can run THROUGH,,,for awhile

Then a BIGGER injury happens

I wish him well !

WTF? When did he get hurt? He just won the damn B1G's! Poor kid.

“My calf had not been feeling 100 percent heading into Big Ten’s, but after I ran my preliminary race at the conference championships, I felt like I was able to perform,” Brown said. “Despite being able to produce my top finish in the finals, I took two weird steps on my final turn and re-aggravated the injury. Because of this calf injury, I was unable to run the 4x400m relay after my individual race at the Big Ten Championships.

So now we have the answer for the 400 and we go another season without Brown getting a title. Damn. Still don't understand why there wasn't an alternate at the B1G's, however, seems odd to me. Oh well.

Does the team still train in bubble? That track sucks for the lower legs. It basically has 4 sharp turns instead of the traditional 2 larger turns. And that track itself was was 1 inch of the foam stuff on top of asphalt. Getting on there several times a week could definitely be part of the problem.

Was fine up until 1994 ... Very few injuries, but no one near 45 second speed ... Lots of 48 & 49 split times those years.

There is a 3 second maybe 4 in their time ... You take about a second of your normal race time.
