Another opportunity for Hobbs to make a dynamic hire.

JH made a fantastic hire with regards to the Women's Golf Team.

will be interesting to see how Hobbs handles this hire.

My daughter was recruited by him to play at RU and I met him at one of the USTA Junior tournaments last summer - seemed very personable. But his recruiting over the last few years, with one recent exception, has been abysmal. No surprise we're winless in BIG10 conference play - we weren't very competitive in conference play in our prior two conferences either. Not totally his fault as our facilities lag behind most decent Div III programs (literally) let alone BiG10 programs.

So where is your daughter playing college tennis?

Thanks for asking RU 93. She had a number of D1 scholarship opportunities but in the end wanted to go to a small liberal arts school so looked primarily at the NESCAC - (Williams, Amherst, Bowdoin, Wesleyan, Tufts, etc) and had offers from most of them and chose Middlebury - strong academics plus top 4 DIII tennis program - the top 5-8 DIII's - Williams, Amherst, Emory, Bowdoin, Midd, U Chicago, etc. have stronger tennis programs than probably 60%+ of the D1's. So I'll have to pay for this since no DIII schollies, but she's worked hard and retirement is so overrated. :)

Middlebury is a very strong academic institution - she made the right choice!
