Yes said "since the season is over I'll just lay money down and cash in on our loses"
I realize it is sarcasm and I know Yes is a great fan, I also know he's a knowledgable enough fan to refute the negatoids and tell us why we have a chance to all of a sudden play well.
Something other than the basic generic anything can happen or upsets do take place…tell us what were going to?
In order to win we're going to have to pressure the QB, cover receivers down field, stop the run, punt the ball well, not turn the ball over and have minimal penalties, not to mention use times outs wisely and not play conservative.
Besides blind hope, what makes you think any of that is going to take place?
I'm prepared to see none of it, support the kids and their efforts and enjoy the tail gate…I have no reason to believe we can win Saturday night.
Call me a miserable fan, I've been at it for 40 years.
The reason is hope and in your 40 years, many times that's all RU fans had.
Hope RU FB is respected was what RU fans did diring the Burns years and Dr John's time before him.
Anderson and Graber's time hope for a good team, Shea almost took all hope away, but it was there in the back of our minds before each and every game RU played. If not others, in my mind .
Schiano gave us expectations instead of just cling to hope, but in the beginning of his tenure, hope was the only thing that kept RU fans with any form of sanity when it came to RU FB.
The misery you feel is those expectation not being realized and the feeling that they might not be the way RU FB looks like now.
Won't knock you for that.
Though I don't like the way RU FB has become under Flood ( once a supporter that said last year proved he deserves a chance)
I still hold hope Rutgers can win games (every game) , bercause Upsets happen making every game Rutgers plays a winnable game.
Admit some games are more winnable than others , along with MSU might be a more loseable game then an opponent like Maryland.
But as miserable as I feel at times ( losses do that) , I'll always carry hope for a win in my heart before the game starts.
I'm always looking forward to the happy feeling an RU win gives, even if the opponent is considered on par with TLSOTP
by many on this board.
Hell. many probably think TLSOTP are better than RU is right now
