Campus Rallys and freedom of Speech

What’s happening at Rutgers and college campuses is not just about criticizing the government of Israel. This is not Rutgers. It’s Stanford. Same themes but more direct here.

And no, it doesn’t mean right wing bigotry should be acceptable because of this stuff. And I do agree, much of this is 1A protected. But also against codes of conduct. And we all know if Jews and Israel were replaced with many other terms there would be action. That in itself is an issue.

Still nothing in New Brunswick.

Still waiting.

Or is it just people asked for a ceasefire, which tons of American and Israeli Jews call for every single day.

I have completed my contribution to this thread and will now unwatch it. In sum, my only point is the content of much of the speech, while despicable IMHO, is protected by the First Amendment and so Rutgers is limited in what it can do about i.

For me it’s not only the words in the ranting speeches .It is the spewed hatred, verbal threats and realization we have a serious and destructive internal problem in the USA. Education has been misused and gone to an area where they are actually using “knowledge is power “ but in a threatening and dangerous way. Watched the vile video from our Creme de la Crème institution Stanford. Now most of them are loud mouthed cowards… incapable of any type of intelligent discourse. Pathethic and that needs to be culled from our society.

You keep saying lawsuit and investigation...those are *all* at Newark. You are comparing a situation at New Brunswick with absolutely no evidence.

You then read into what you want without evidence.

New Brunswick does not have, and never has had, such a problem.

If your next response isn't proof at New Brunswick, it's a full and total admission.

I am sorry that these facts upset you.

It's further a fact that anti-Semitism is *entirely* a right wing problem in the American context.

Leaders of the American left are Bernie Sanders, a former kibbutz resident. The Senate Majority Leader. The governor of Colorado. Countless House members, including nearly every major right wing bete noir (Schiff, Wasserman Schultz).

The leader of the American right
'
'1) Sat for dinner with two of the most notorious American anti-Semites
2) Claimed a protest where "Jew will not replace us" was shouted included "very fine people" (Oh, and pretty please include in your response that it's a hoax. Surely you can tell us the name of a "very fine person" who left in disgust after those chants, right?
3) Claimed Hezbollah was "smart"
4) Told a group of American Jews about "your prime minister." Gee, as an American, I never thought I had one.
5) Had his supporters waving Confederate flags and wearing a "Camp Auschwitz" sweatshirt invade the Capitol which he now calls "hostages"

Your devotion to lying to smear a campus and force political views is really something.
Here is the OCR complaint:

It’s has to do with incidents in NEW BRUNSWICK. These incidents happened immediately following a SJP hate fest. The egg throwers came directly from the event. Both incidents targeted Jewish students and the Jewish Fraternity house located in NEW BRUNSWICK.

Here’s the university paper report on the incident in NEW BRUNSWICK:

The report explains there was a call for the SJP group in NEW BRUNSWICK to go to the AEPi house in NEW BRUNSWICK after a pro Hamas rally to kill a Jewish Israeli student who was claimed to be there.

Enough with this. It’s not just Newark. Rutgers needs to get this under control. These are just two examples.

I’m not going to get into your nonsense about Sanders that ignores the “squad” and their public statements and urging towards the population.

I won’t be responding to whatever the next bizzare, hate filled and bigotry justifying post you make. I’ve been rather polite through this exchange so I will end it here.

So- the proof the school is anti-Semitic is a text message someone sent and egg throwing? Oh...and "a call" to go to the Jewish fraternity...that was never answered, by anyone? So the school is so anti-Semitic that it had one awful message posted online and another that called for violence...that absolutely was rejected by the entire student body?

Understandably you won't get into it- you're making things up.

Stick to the CE board, where you can lie and smear and worship the guy whose supporters wear "Camp Auschwitz" gear unabated.

Unfortunately, the First Amendment is pretty unpopular with people when it used to criticized Israel. Now, if the First Amendment is used to foment insurrection, harass a rape victim or praise folks who chanted "Jew will not replace us"- well that they're oddly not concerned with.

Fascists lol.
Biden’s weaponized DOJ?
Make sure the multi cultural Moms for Liberty are considered domestic terrorists for advocating pornography, explicit sex and inflammatory racism be taken out of children’s sight in grade schools.
Leftist atheists suck.
Ben Franklin was a fascist to leftist Libs

We have not done what we should have done long ago … Iran is the issue . Take out every oil rig…their refineries… ships…air capabilities…training facilities… That’s a start.

No your cult. Oh but it's only dictator for a day right?

Remember when Trump ordered investigations into John Kerry and Comey and the IRS to investigate Comey and how much you criticized? Oh right lol

Moms for Liberty is advocating against pornography?

Did you mean Moms for Liberty is literally appearing in lesbian pornos recorded by their GOP leading husband who has been charged with voyeurism? Was that reported on the CEsspool?

Thomas Jefferson was an atheist?

Why do you hate our Founders? Just because you want to terminate the Constitution?

Why ? Is there no truth in the thread? Ask those 3 dead military personnel and 30 + wounded if they agree.

Trump killed 4 military personnel in Niger and got hundreds injured in Iraq among over 100 he got killed, Reefer Madness Bobby.

Thank you for affirming that threads with no truth belong on the CE board.

Well said.

His SSI check doesn't cover premium. He spent it all defending the guy who said "Lock Her Up" from political persecution...for....let me see here...um...mishandling classified documents.

Surely one of the documents wasn't...let's see here...oh yeah a plan to attack Iran.

Deporting citizens and calling people terrorists for exercising their 1A isn't something someone who loves the Constitution would call for.

Ah, so checks out.

I would argue targeting people at Hillel are deserving to be expelled at any university

For sure. And I would argue that the people who stabbed a Palestinian child in Illinois, a Palestinian adult in Texas and shot several Palestinian college students are the ones deserving of deportation, not people who have opinions you don't like.

Did I say that or are you assuming and putting words in my mouth?

Targeting students at Hillel should be automatic expulsion

Oh and the way….please show me where I mentioned anything about deportation

Address what I say….not what other people say

I don't think I said anything about you. Who was targeted at Hillel and how so? Any proof of what happened? How can I address what you're saying when this incident wasn't mentioned prior? I have lots of stories on the stabbings. Do you need them to condemn them? I already condemned targeting, even without knowing that actually happened.

You are responding to a thread where it was suggested that citizens be deported. You are the first person to mention any targeting at Hillel. It's a free country (for now) and I'm definitely curious to hear about Hillel, but it sure is interesting to refuse to condemn the comments urging deporting citizens. Or condemning stabbing.

I think it depends upon who the hate is directed at.
This. Apparently if you are black you can openly call for the genocide of White people as an RU professor actually did. With zero repercussions.

Switch around the calculus and that changes. So to answer the OP, it just depends.

I've been participating only to make sure everyone understands that the Constitution greatly restricts Rutgers in how much it can do about pro-Palestinian protesters. But I do want to make plain that I am offended by calls for the destruction of Israel (and that is what "from the river to the sea" means, although apparently not all protesters realize it) and support, tacit or express, for Hamas terrorism. I say this even though a lot of Israeli policy bothers me. There may be a theoretical distinction between anti-Semitism and anti-Zionism (opposition to the existence of Israel); but in practice they are the same: there are seven million Jews in Israel, all of whom would be murdered, expelled, or oppressed if Israel were destroyed, and certainly it is hard to imagine a much more anti-Semitic result.
Bullshit. If a White professor said blacks should be killed there is zero chance that person would t be fired that next minute.

Less than zero actually.

Plenty of students and staff supporting the position of Hamas. Now you need a list?

It doesn’t. Not sure what the point is here.

Lawsuit, Title IV complaint and OCR complaint. Plenty to read there.

Try to pretend “intifada” means struggle is false. Simple application of context clues explain. “Intifada” is a reference to terrorist attacks with the goal of destroying Israel. “Globalize the Intifada” , “Intifada Revolution.” It’s pretty easy to understand what it means and who is being threatened.

Disagreeing with the Israeli government is not bigotry. You’re pretending that’s all that is happening. You’re posturing with claiming so much support for those who are against Israel.

Why do you keep bringing up the right wing antisemitism? Every poster I have seen here, including me acknowledges it as wrong. It seems you’re trying to use it to justify your position of bigotry. Right wing and left wing bigotry is unacceptable. How many times does it need to be acknowledged for you?

Rutgers has a antisemitism problem right now. As so many campuses. And it is embedded in left side ideology. It needs to be addressed. These facts seem to upset you. I don’t know why you are so committed to defending this hate. You do you. But you keep putting it out there for the world to see.
It really burns him that President Trumps daughter is now Jewish and he’s been a great friend to them his entire life.

Meanwhile Libs like the Squad are calling for Jewish geneocude. It’s a real conundrum for the beta crowd. They can’t reconcile it.

Cite a case in which Rutgers has tried to do that. You can't. And the reason is that Rutgers knows the professor would easily prevail in a law suit. BTW, I advise you to stop using foul language in your posts: it just shows that you know how weak your position is.

Come now. You're setting the bar too high for that poster.

The people who say "geneocude" and think the First Amendment doesn't cover swearing seem triggered.

I guess the 6 didn't approve the expense of $399 for shoes by the antisemite who dines with Nick Fuentes and Kanye. Sad.
