And isn’t Illinois 2-4?
So what? They aren’t that good. The idea is to get better..not to pad a record with weak wins (that was last year). Illinois is giving ND a heck of a game on the road tonight.

If the SJU game is any sort of litmus of how this team reacts when down then I’m not too concerned about the fight in them. The Quick turnaround is rough and will prove to be a gut check.
I think playing these this early is a Good Thing if we’re forced to do it. I guess I’m more interested in seeing how the guys react over the span.
The funny thing about hoops is if we get red hot shooting and making those extra passes we may steal one or scare the bejesus out of someone. And that would be sweet.
And what I am saying is we have a lot less pad the record opponents this year. Way less. And with a young team and so many new contributors, we need a few of those to gain some confidence and work together as a team.
I would not want to have a more difficult schedule this year for our team.
5 out of our first 10 games are against tough opponents and 3 of those 5 are away.
That’s what.
they just played a tough tourney and then have some other power 5 school tonight...big deal..you play how you are dealt...Carino trying to drum up controversy when there really isnt any
Exactly. Short turn around AND TRAVEL in between each very tough gameI don't think this was about drumming up controversy, but pointing out a uniquely difficult set of games in the conference this year and in Rutgers history.
The league set it up so that we'd fly to Top 40 Miami for an 11/28 game, fly home on 11/29 for a conference game against #9 MSU on 11/30, then fly to #22 Wisconsin two days later for a game on 12/3. That's tough sledding for any team.
That's fine. We just disagree here. The pre-league baby schedule was for last year. This year is more difficult but we will be still less prepared for the league than other teams, IMO.
My issues are more that Carino's article is lending itself to people starting to make excuses already - implying the B1G is screwing us with the schedule. We don't get any respect because we never seem to earn any. Start winning and it's amazing how things change. The good teams and players always seem to have things go their way. It's similar to the people who constantly complain about the refs. I coached AAU and HS basketball for many years and one thing I always told my kids is that sometimes refs aren't going to be fair or good....that's life....tough shi*t and no one else cares. Now, go out and get a lead so that the quality of the refs won't matter. It's always excuses.
Not anymore!!!!!!!!!We're not expecting to dance this year, and going 0-3 in this stretch is far more likely than going 3-0. And while it could be said that this is a good learning experience for a young team, it would have been nice to spread these games out a bit to increase the likelihood of the team stealing a game or two.
Nonetheless, I am still hoping the team, fresh off a few days rest, gets a win in Miami and uses that to propel them to a win Friday in a packed RAC.

Ha! Glad we stole one then!I want wins. No one cares about scaring a very good team in a close loss. Winning the game against teams better than us is the way to improve the program.
Done!
Just get one win in this stretch please
