5'11 7/8" and 217 lbs. 9 3/8" hands 30 3/8" arms

Unfortunately, that may have cost him some money

How tall is Amendola? Edelman? I think they won a Super Bowl last season....no?

Caroo isn't a slot guy. He's an X receiver like Britt was for us. The height will hurt his draft position, no question IMO.

Two completely diferent arguments. The NFL draft does take into account measurables. Amendola was never drafted and signed as a free agent. Edelman was taken in the 7th round.

The statement that Carroo lost a few million due to a shorter height is true.

The statement that you dont have to be tall to be a good/great receiver is also true.

I think many of you over rate physical stats and ignore what a player actually does on the field. Did he play short in the Big Ten?

Yeah but they weren't top draft picks either which is what the OP is saying. I think he will still go pretty high. He has a huge catch radius and got wide open against the best competition.

Kevin White and Davante Parker had smaller hands by 1/8th of an inch.

He's essentially 6 foot and strong as an ox. if he were 6 feet even instead of 5/11 7/8 it would not be a discussion.

Kevin White West Virginia 6'3 215 32 5/8 9 1/4
DeVante Parker Louisville 6'3 209 33 1/4 9 1/4
Nelson Agholor Southern Cal 6'0 198 32 1/4 9 1/4
Dorial Green-Beckham Missouri 6'5 237 32 1/2 9

Amari Cooper Alabama 6'1 211 31 1/2 10
Stefon Diggs Maryland 6'0 195 31 1/4 10

The statement he lost millions because of his height is stupid. Did he not know how tall he was yesterday? Did he shrink?
I think it has to do with what he has traditionally been "measured" at, which is 6' 1"....so yeah, he kinda shrunk

he was "listed" at 6'1" which is never accurate. Every player in NCAA seems to shrink an inch or two when the NFL does their evaluations.

The 1/8th of an inch does not make a difference.

Lost a few million? Huh??
He was never considered a high enough draft pick to make millions.
If he signs a big 2nd contract it will have nothing to do with his height or size of his hands. It will be his play.

You all realize that weight / yes even height can fluctuate the latter depending on the time of day, your posture etc.

Measure him again / he'll " straighten out"![smoke]

Why? There are great receivers that aren't giants. Not every WR has to be 6'6".
I am not saying he won't be a good NFL WR, but to be a high draft pick (first 2 rounds) you typically need to be a big, physical receiver or an absolute speed guy. LC does not project to be a burner and his height includes his reach which does not help him. Just look at some of the lousy WRs that get picked earlier than they should just because they're fast (the Jets have a knack for drafting these guys).

Catching is more important. And he can catch the ball very well.
nothing is more important than instincts at WR and KOR's and PR's ......you smell the openings and blow through..Admittedly if you add Ht it helps because usually the most talented athletes are average or a little below heightwise,.....damn though..he's built like a SS or LBer...

I don't ever think I've ever seen any prediction of him being 1st or early 2nd round. At that point money isn't an issue. Its about getting on a good team that needs you.

Keep underestimating him, I don't care that he is 6 ft., he is going to be a very good NFL receiver. He can get separation, he can run routes, and most importantly, he can catch. I hope the jets see this and take him.

So, since listed heights are always a bit exaggerated, is his height at 6 feet different than listed at 6'1? I'd say no. He is what he is.

I saw a couple of mocks that had him as a late-2, but mostly mid-3. Agree with you on getting on the right team with a quality QB (so many bad QBs right now). Amazing what a guy like Hopkins did on Houston with their crap QBs.

PFF has him in the 1st. I don't necessarily agree with them but it is out there.

Minnesota Vikings: Leontee Carroo, WR, Rutgers
Just as was the case in Mock Draft 1.0, the Vikings look to aid in QB Teddy Bridgewater’s development by adding Carroo who is adept at getting open on vertical routes. He averaged 4.11 yards per route this season while grading at +15.0 in only eight games.

today's Senior Bowl notes from NFL.com

3. Carroo falls short. Rutgers WR Leonte Carroo already has plenty to prove this week in personal interviews that will delve into his suspension for allegedly assaulting a woman last year. On top of that, he didn't exactly hit his marks at the weigh-in. Listed by Rutgers as 6-1, he checked in at just 5-11 7/8. At 217 pounds, he appeared to be in excellent condition and should be one of the most physical receivers in Mobile this week, but his height and length aren't what some expected.

It's time for the annual "I know nothing about how the NFL draft works" posts. Those are always fun.

FTR, the emergence of smaller WRs in recent years will make scouts take a closer look at Carroo, but the people who run drafts are still more enamored with the taller receivers. What helps a lot is that Tyler Lockett and Stefon Diggs both went in the top of the draft last year and outperformed many who were drafted higher.

This is not good timing to lose few inches. It can be taken care of with special foot wear.

Why is this coming as a big surprise?

What have people been watching for the last four years?

The head coaches and general managers will make the decision on Carroo. At the combine they'll see an incredible specimen with great acceleration and ball skills.
The people writing his bio now are non decision makers that make shock comments to be recognized.
He's akready at a higher level than Sanu right now...IMO

Every team we played in the past two years knew he was our best reciever and our qb's favorite target. Yet how many times did he get open deep?

But what I like best about him is his ability to high point the ball and just go get it. I think the NFL is going to love this kid, and I predict he will be a better pro reciever than Mo.

Odell Beckham Jr = 5'11"
Steve Smith(Panthers) Wes Welker, Ty Hilton, Desean Jackson, Randall Cobb Heck Jerry Rice is like 6' 1" he seemed to be an ok player. I hate that they get caught up in such silliness. If the guy can play he can play eg. Russel Wilson, Drew Brees.
