Whether Alabama wins or not doesn’t matter. They’re not dominating a mediocre Michigan with a bunch of defensive players out. No different than IU with more players available for Michigan.
Alabama is a hot and cold team just like we’ve seen in one half here or against UGA or from game to game. That’s exactly why you can’t say they’re definitively better than such and such team for a playoff spot.
Boneheaded move to call that timeout by Michigan on 3rd down near end of half.
UM is missing 3/4 from the D line, 2 from the defensive secondary, both starting running backs, the tight end and a wide receiver or two and an OL player.
Taking a chance or two is quite alright with me in what is essentially a meaningless bowl game.

Seems like Michigan will only be able to score with a short field, TO or if they get lucky with a big play, most likely some sort of run. Their explosives tend to be that even when McCarthy was there.

Good game, I guess we can put the argument to bed that the SEC deserved 4 four in after losing to a mediocre Michigan team with half their defense not playing. So no, SEC you can't use the sit out excuse.

Alabama losing (and even if they won a close one) proves they weren’t a definitive option over IU or SMU and that’s the point.
All those ESPN talking heads and others were acting like IU and SMU had no business being there while Alabama and other SEC schools “definitively” did belong and would’ve had better performances. They were all flawed teams, most teams are these days, so to say this flawed team with its flawed resume’ is head and shoulders better than this flawed team and its flawed resume’ is BS. Too much SEC bias. They got respect just being considered at 3 losses.
There’s nothing hypocritical about that at all.

I do too frankly and it’s somewhat mind boggling they could do it. You have to be at least somewhat proficient in the air to be better than just okay on the highest level.
Martindale’s defense did a good job this year covering for those flaws.
