Chambers was effusive in his praise for the RAC

Will try to find video but just watched the replay of the game in 60 and they had snippets from press conferences and the guy was literally gushing over the atmosphere at the RAC putting it up their with the best.

also praise for Pike and Hobbs
He also mentioned the players jawing back and forth between the fans and took it all in stride. My appreciation for him definitely went up a couple of notches after watching that.

agree...after winning the NIT, to be 0-10 to start the Big 10 season he was likely to be fired, if they only won a few games the rest of the year. Its obvious the team turned around quickly and he has saved his job for another year...but for him when will he get over the hump..its a cautionary tale for RU fans, we can see alot of improvement but taking that leap from 11th to 7th in this league is enormous

He probably saved his job, but what happens if Stevens leaves early? (he's a junior) PSU fans also think Watkins might leave (I suppose as a grad transfer?). If both leave, they're going to look like a mid-major team next year.

I've watched him on the sidelines in the past, never liked his demeanor. This is the first time I've heard him speak and I have a new found respect for him. He went over and above to praise our team, our coach and our venue.

I wonder what he would have said if Geo, Caleb or Myles hit their shots that last sequence

This is our natural rival now that the Princeton thing is done and shu doesn't play in this league.

Man if we could get football up there it would be a HUGE competition. It has everything else needed.

I happen to like Chambers...have for a few years. He and Pike seem like they could be from same mold.

In watching this video of Chambers I have a brand new appreciation for him as a man, because his persona on the basketball court is completely different. On the court he appears to be a hothead many times. In this video he is just the opposite; he is circumspect and very genuine including his effusive praise for Pike and Hobbs as well as the RAC environment.

I kept yelling at him to not hit the kids

His wife and kids missed the humor apparently, judging by looks i was getting

Basketball isn't a high priority sport at Penn State which favors Chambers staying.

Once you realized his kids were there you kept yelling that?

They may think of us as an afterthought, but we can all agree on the fact that WE HATE PENN STATE.

I'm sure Chambers would love to play home games at old Rec Hall. PSU played a game there vs. Princeton in 2013, its first game at Rec Hall in 17 years. PSU would actually have a legitimate home court advantage if it played all its games there.

Which I find weird. The number 2 college revenue generator and they treat it like a red headed stepchild.

In terms of what is the hottest ticket on campus, Penn State basketball is no better than the 5th most popular sport on campus behind football, wrestling, hockey and woman's volleyball.

i knew it was his family

bring your family on the road what do you expect

Sorry. Not buying your rationalization for what I believe is over the line behavior.
I think you could have come up with other stuff to yell that wouldn't have been as personal to his kids.

"Don't hit the kids " with his kids right there?

Frankly surprised I'm the only person to comment on this. Glad I'm not the coach or his family cause that wouldn't fly very far with me.

Congrats on your prideful moment .

I wonder how he would have sounded if they lost at the end ? But he was classy in victory . I can’t root for that school, but chambers came across as a good guy here .

What people don't realize is that the natural structure of the RAC is what gives it the ability to provide the atmosphere it does. It's an old school gym with great sightlines and and everyone is on top of you. When you go there as a fan, it makes it much easier to be engaged. It naturally encourages engagement.

People arguing for a luxurious and bigger arena aren't realizing that we would lose the rabid environment. The RAC is special and no matter how old it is, it is much more important to have an atmosphere that creates hell for our opponents. The more this program improves, the louder and tougher it becomes. 8,000 packed fans into a gym is MUCH better than a wide spread out modern arena with amenities. It may be a small gym, but on TV a full RAC is impressive and that's invaluable marketing

Honestly, feel this way about many of the B1G coaches in their after game interviews. Amazing how cordial and how much knowledge of the game coaches in this league have. It's knight and day compared to football coaches lol.

You guys gotta relax

Used "player" and "kid" and also Myles Dread by name

No wonder the 100s are fukking dead you guys want a maac team to sit and watch like the NY symphony

I don't put too much stock about what opposing coaches say especially after escaping with a much needed win. There is still a certain amount of diplomacy amongst coaches the lends itself to say nice things and credit the opponent regardless of how you might truly feel. When was the last time you really heard a coach take a shot at the opposing team or its coach in one of these post game pressers?

Not just because he complemented the RAC - Chambers strikes me as decent guy - total opposite of that tool Franklin.
