"Chris is our starting quarterback"

Southern Miss QBs vs NEB: 26/42, 447 yds, 2 TD, 0 INT

South Alabama QBs vs NEB: 26/45, 313 yds, 1 TD, 1 INT

Illinois QB vs NEB: 23/45, 251 yds, 2 TD, 0 INT

Purdue QB vs NEB: 28/43, 274 yds, 4 TD, 0 INT

Chris Laviano vs NEB: 13/27, 165 yds, 0 TD, 2 INT

I only chose QBs from teams worse than us to make it a fair sample size, you know?

Hey dumbazz. If you read the thread, the original statistics were quoted for all four recent games. My response referred to similar performances by others in THOSE games. I never once referred to comparisons against Nebraska specifically. Other threads clearly showed how other P5 qb's fared worse than the RU QBs against those defenses.

Can you tell me if the QBs in the games you mentioned were. Sacked, hit or hurried 19 times during their games or at an equal percentage of their pass plays. When you can tell me those qb's offensive lines allowed the same type of pressure then you can tell me about there statistics.

Retting could not win the job at LSU,a team that does not have a single competent qb. He has been evaluated be this staff, including Ralph fridge on,and couldn't win the position. He is a source of unrest and trouble for thoIs program. His transfer out of here cannot occur soon enough ,not only for flood, but for the next coach if that is the way ru wants to go.

Incorrect - he left lsu because lsu decided it wanted a more athletic dual threat qb

You have to be going for gold with all the mental gymnasitcs that you do to defend Laviano. I've never seen a girlfriend go to such lengths to defend her man.

If the OL has quit on Coach Flood, Chris is going to get hurt mentally and physically. I hope for the kid's sake, that this is not what is happening. But, I am sure, Coach Flood has done no service to Chris.

lol this moron is now blaming the OL? [banana][banana][banana][banana][banana][banana][banana][banana][banana]

I'm convinced slyker is 100% OK with mediocrity. How can you call out fans that are so dissapointed because our team is a complete failure? This isn't the NFL, no superstars that you can convince to stick around for 10+ years. In what universe is it OK to throw a season so 1 person can learn? That's what the off-season is for. You post on this board defending flood and co from outraged fans that no nothing. How noble of you. Claiming we spin anything to fit our narrative yet that's exactly what you do. The fanbase wastes their time and some waste their money but it's OK as long as CL learns a thing or 2. Because of poor OL play, our QB doesn't have to be held accountable for being terrible himself yet everyone else is expendable. You're such a tool.

Save your energy. The mental gymnastics exhibited by the aforementioned poster thus far in support of coach Flood and QB Laviano could likely reach the podium at the Olympics.

I Flood stays and Russo arrives, Rettig should transfer again. He's being sh*t on by Flood.

Shhh... I'm not a Rutgers Coach. I'm go'in incognito!

letterman - Congratulations! In only your 7th post you have earned "ignore" status for writing the most asinine bullshit ever posted on this board. And that my friend is an amazing accomplishment considering the load of bull crap that gets posted on here.

Laviano has more job security than Peyton HOF Manning. The man who owns the record for most yards passing in a season and in a lifetime and most TD passing in a season and in a lifetime got benched in the middle of the third quarter in a home game with the Broncos losing by only a score of 22 -0. Flood is a seriously disturbed human being with a dangerous dark side. In addition he is a total fail at QB recruiting if Laviano is our best QB with Gino, Dare and Rettig all riding the pine all season. There are no words to describe Kyle Flood in handling this QB situation. He has got to be the dumbest ass on the planet.

Flood has gone from being in a situation where reasonable people can disagree to outright saying FU to the RU faithful and creating serious dislike for himself.

Just on the personal distrust and dislike of him alone he can not lead this program.

Someone just got put in their place.

At this point he does not have the cajones to play Rettig. He will run this into the ground with Laviano. If he played Rettig and he performed well how would he look after this long period of stubborness? He believes Army and Maryland represents possible W's and wants that to occur with his guy in there and be able to say the future looks bright.

Exactly !! Finally you get it. You people crying for Rettig need to give it a rest. Laviano is the starter. Flood told you this is how he would handle the QB situation from the start of camp. Incessant whining about it is not going to change this. It is what it is. So Shut up about it. we hear the same crap every day on this board..
Buddy, the ONLY "crap" I hear from this board, seems to be coming from your keyboard. A keyboard that couldn't wipe the As& of 99% of other keyboards on this blog. Before you bought that keyboard, didn't anyone do quality control for defects, or just plain malfunctions. Because, it really needs repair in the worse way. [winking]

Giving the benefit of the doubt, let's say Rettig has shown something in practice that prohibits the coach making him the starter. The fact remains that CL isn't getting it done and the coach needs to make a change. If it's not Rettig, go to the third string. Hell, run the wild knight again. Anything to show the fan base that you're not completely incompetent and realize you need to shake things up.

Since Flood refuses to make any changes at all, we can only assume he's at fault here. Fire Flood and let the next coach decide who our start is in 2016. Anything less and I will hold the University responsible for this misery.

I agree, the dislike for Flood is starting to be visceral and for good reason. He has completely lost the fan base and cannot lead.

For almost 2000 years "physicians" used bloodletting as a healing modality. How could such insanity go on so long? The information on their failures (dead patients) was ignored or misinterpreted (he was so sick that even bloodletting couldn't save him). The same like some on this board say: "Flood knows best; if he is starting Laviano, Rettig must really stink."

If bloodletters had run a clinical trial they would have instantly spotted their error. The equivalent of a clinical trail here is to give Rettig a start. Flood and his sycophants don't want that because they don't want to be exposed for the incompetents they are.

Dude you are in the10% minority with you support of Flood regarding Laviano. Flood is going down with Laviano, just face it.

And as pointed out in other threads. Other power 5 QBs have had similar and worse statistical days against those defenses this year.
Well said, but I would not mind if Rettig played for a half of one game...plus, the O line was awful yesterday.

Flood is a seriously disturbed human being with a dangerous dark side.

I'm really starting to believe this. I don't think he's the "nice guy" everyone makes him out to be. The Princeton meeting fiasco, in my personal opinion, revealed a lot about his character or lack thereof. He was really doing Barnwell a disservice. Barnewell, being a D-1 athlete, has probably had many things handed to him during his youth. If he really wanted to help him he would have let him fail and learn a life lesson. He could always work his way back onto the team in 2016. No, he NEEDED Barnwell to be eligible to help his already atrocious secondary. Flood is just like any other coach...has an ego and will sell out just to win one more game. Unfortunately, he's not winning many games and therefore needs to be shown the door ASAP. But this nice guy crap has to stop.

Bingo! Nice guys don't commit ethics violations. Nice guys aren't stubborn. Nice guys give all players on a team the opportunity to succeed. Kyle Flood does not pass the eye test for a nice guy.

Thank You for proving my point ! As I said, "Other power 5 QBs have had similar and worse statistical days against those defenses this year"

And as you point out above OSU QB had a worse day passing yds than Laviano AND

WOW YOU DO THIS AS YOUR JOB AND YOU STILL HAVE A JOB? IF I WERE YOUR BOSS YOU WOULD BE POUNDING THE PAVEMENT. Mr statistics/ data collector seemed to miss Michigan vs Maryland on Oct 3 - another game in which the QB's had a worse day than Laviano, 76 total yds passing and if I remember correctly 0 TD's 3 INT.s

And a Psuedo power 5 team BYU vs Michigan had QB stats that also were rivaling mr. Laviano

So Thanks for proving my point. hope you can keep your job and continue to buy RU tickets

Someone just got put in their place.

Sorry Cali Knight, he provided data that proved exactly what my statement said, as I stated in my above post and Mr statistics who actually works in the field, or so he says, and bragged about how awesome he was - failed critically in doing his research and did not even report a game that helped prove my point.

All we need is a score to make it a comic opera

Flood: hes our starter
Chorus: but he stinks
Flood: he's our starter
Chorus: but we're losing
Flood: he's our starter
Chorus: but he stinks

I'm in tears I'm laughing so hard. I'm imagining Bohemian Rhapsody. Well done!
