This will be a true test for our guys.

Looks like Smith is not registered (according to Track).

I am scratching my head on our registered wrestlers (you will see why), keep in mind this tournament you can only have one wrestler at each weight (if I am not mistaken).

Sean McCabe
Scott Delvecchio
Anthony Ashnault
Ken Theobold
Anthony Perrotti
Wesley Benard

Here is where it takes a turn.

Nick Gravina
Ethan Orr
Phill Bakuckas
Hayden Hrymack

It only lists names and not the weight they are registered at. I can only imagine these 4 guys are going between 165 - 197, I would think Phil is going 174, which means 165, 184, and 197 will be between the other 3. If I had to guess with Gravina coming off injury they are not sending him up to 184 so he would be our 165 pounder. Now that leaves Orr and Hrymack for 184 and 197, cant see Orr going all the way up to 197 so my guess is Orr 184 (he wrestled 165 last week) and Hrymack 197 (he weighs 184).

Again I have to ask if the plan is for Hrymack to go 184 once Camp comes in the lineup why are we not getting him matches at that weight?

If I am wrong about the one kid per weight then I can see putting both Orr and Gravina at 165 and not having a 197 pounder, Josh, WNG or anyone else care to chime in?

yeah 141 is pretty crazy. 10 out of the Intermat top 20 for the weight. We already saw what Ashnault is up against with Hudson. That'll be a tough rematch if things play to seed. I'm sure Hudson would like some revenge. Then the winner gets Hodge Trophy front runner Logan Stieber, who recently pinned Joe Spisak in the first period like it was no big deal.

I like Theobold's chances of getting past Moreno with probably Villalonga in the semi's. Should be a fun match.

Perrotti get a huge test with VTech's Brascetta if things go according to seed in the 1/4 round. Green and Ness are are 1 and 1A at this weight so it will be a tough bracket for anyone to win. i think Perrotti will be up for the fight tho.

and I hope Billy Smith is healed from his freak jump rope accident, because I would love to see him go against Super Soph Adam Coon in the semis. He'd presumably have to get by Tavanello first. then it's just the reigning HWT champ likely in the finals.

tournament should be awesome. hoping to catch a lot of the matches on Flo.

nice sleuthing on the registered wrestlers obrats. guess Smith isn't back yet, which is a bummer. anyone have a projected return date?

not other info on the 65-97 guys. Hrymack going 97 is my best guess.

I think RU is expecting Smith back for the Iowa match...No need to rush...We should have no problems with Army or Davidson. This tournament is just loaded this year and our guys will have some great chances to knock off some ranked guys.

I think it would be good to get these two matches under his belt befor having to see Telford.

After some more "sleuthing" (and info from a friend who will remain nameless) it appears Gravina is out, Orr is going 165, Hrymack 184 and we will not enter a 197.

Those pre seeds are just for the fans and a lot can happen at the seeding meeting. Team leaves at 2 pm today for Vegas. Gravina and Smith are out so they will not be there.

Good to see Hayden at 184.

Just watched some round of 16's and Delvecchio got beat by a tough kid from Nebraska Kearney who was too fast and strong for him. Ashnault won 15-0 and advances to the round of 8 as does Theobold who won 10-0 over McGinty of Air Force. Perrotti advances to round of 8 with 10-1 win over Wheeling of WVU.

The next round will be a challenge for all three of our guys. Tonight or tomorrow?

Delvecchio lost to kid ranked #1 in D2 on intermat. Backuckas beat #15 Pickett from Cornell and lost in SV to #14 from Michigan.

Quarterfinal matchups for Ru

141 Anthony Ashnault vs Joe Spisak # 9 in Country

149 Ken Theobold vs Gabe Moreno of Iowa State who is ranked 12 0 13

157 Anthony Perrotti vs Alex Elder Oregon State (unranked)

If AA wins he gets National Champ Logan Stieber

If Theobold wins he gets Villalonga of Cornell most likely

If Perrotti wins he gets # 2 in Country Jersey james Green

Ashnault beats #9 in country Joe Spisak of Virginia and gets Logan Stieber in the semis.

Delvecchio wins his wrestleback 11-2 to go into WB Qtrs.

Theobold loses hold and reversed by Moreno (Iowa State) with 2 second to go. 8-8 into SV and was deep in on Moreno's leg...but got taken to back for 2+3 and Theo lost .
ugghhhh
he was so close!

Perrotti majors Alex Elder of Oregon State by 13-5 who beat Marcus Scheidel of Columbia. Perrotti to Semis!!

Bakuckas beats Affronti of Hofstra to advance in wrestlebacks...much closer match than in dual meet where Bakuckas pinned Affronti. This was 2-1 chess match won by Bakuckas riding time in third period.
Nice match Phil

Hrymack losing 5-0 to #17 TJ Dudley of Nebraska going into second period, plus lots of riding time. Hayden needs to get a lot stronger as his length is no advantage.

And another nearside tilt in the second period...8-0 to start third...Dudley rides him all 2nd and third periods.
Nearly 6 minutes of riding, dudley wins 9-0.

So pumped up to watch AA take on Logan Steiber and Perotti vs Green tomorrow. I think there's hope for AA to have a Zain R. Moment.

Give us Camp and Smitty in this event and we would have been a top 5 team. Regardless of what happens tomorrow the boys did a fine job! Proud of them. Everyone will know that RU is for real.

Just became a member at FloWrestling to watch the matches. Do I need to watch it via livestream, or will there be a recorded matches for paid members? (need to work...)

DelVecchio, Theobold and Bakuckus go down in the consis. Phil's match against Ohio State's 14th Intermat ranked Martin. semis coming soon.

re: Flo, they'll get individual matches posted but it takes some to get all of them up.
