Colorado-It's the Coaching, Not the Talent

Just stop already. You obviously did not read the article and have a one track mind.

Stop what? I agree with ur point. It's not ALL about talent level.

But I know there's gonna be people using this thread to bash Ash. But shouldn't compare the circumstances of a 4th year coach with a 1st year coach.

MacIntyre finally has his guys..who are in his ststem..who are buying into him. Ash deserves this time too before we criticized.

Sorry, I misunderstood your post. Chris Petersen has "OKGs", our kind of guys at UW, and had the same system/buy in at Boise State.

Why do people insist on rehashing this same idiotic argument ad infinitum? BOTH talent and coaching matter.

No worries.

Ash needs time to recruit guys who fit his system. I've never been one to look at recruiting rankings, anyway.

Get fast, smart playmakers on this team...no matter how many stars...and we will hopefully see Colorado type improvement in year 4.

Some good kids in the program and on offense..but they aren't a fit for Ash and Drew

But look at it this way: when blue chip teams have bad coaches, like, for example, Texas or USC or Miami have over parts of the last decade, they are bad but they are not rock bottom bad. They are so loaded with talent that they are mediocre overall when they have bad coaches.

When programs with terrible talent have proven, good coaches they are sometimes able to rise to the level of good or mediocre briefly, but usually they suck. I'd say that talent is more important than coaching if pressed, but only by a modest margin. if either one is really lacking you're not going to be good.

Someone made the point about the B1G being much stronger than the PAC12. That is definitely true this year, but who knows what the conference will be like in 3-4 years? Not that we should expect Michigan, tOSU or PSU to fall to the bottom, but look what happened to MSU this year. Don't expect the coaches in place now to all be in place in 3 years, and we can hope one or more of those teams hire the next Brady Hoke while RU continues to ascend.
