Contract agreed. Don't have all details but likely out of market back in play too.
Yup you did. I didn't rule out an agreement but you have more confidence in one happening than I did.I told you so...
Last night. No press release yet.Yup you did. I didn't rule out an agreement but you have more confidence in one happening than I did.
News must be really fresh because quick google search and haven't found anything as of now. Actually, newest article is from just this morning about PSU fans not being able to watch some games.
I told you so...
I don't know that detail yet but my guess would be those come back too.How about out of market states...Florida ?
This is tongue in cheek ---- nothing about keepi Comcast is safe. This is great news... now I can safely keep Comcast!

You can get SEP for pretty cheap for college and NFL football season and then drop easily."Sports Business Journal's John Ourand says the deal will put the channel on its expanded basic tier in states with a Big Ten school, and will be on the Sports and Entertainment tier everywhere else."
Your rants were what made Comcast cave :DGreat. I can stop calling Comcast and ranting about how I need to watch my Rutgers football games.

out of market relegated to a sports tier.
why assume Comcast is who caved?
just curious, but prior to RU joining the B10, what tier did Comcast have BTN on in NJ?
Not sure. But I remember in the early 2000s it wasn’t carried much here. The Michigan loss to Appalachian state was not really seen anywhere
that game was the 1st yr of BTN, (played literally 2 days after the initial launch of the network), and virtually no one carried BTN at the time other than Directv, (which was controlled by News Corp at the time, as was BTN), and maybe Dish Net.
i don't think any of the big cable guys carried BTN at all the entire 1st yr, even in the midwest. (fee negotiation standoff that lasted the entire yr).
One of the big reasons I have Directiv from day one. They don't screw around with sports networks. It is what they do best, better than anyone.

IIRC, it was offered on their "Sports Pak", which was $5/month for a dozen sports channels. It absolutely was reasonable at the time. I don't know what the details are any longer since I no longer live in Comcast territory.

"In addition, in the coming months, customers outside of the Big Ten states will have access to the Big Ten Network as part of Comcast’s Sports and Entertainment Package."https://www.landgrantholyland.com/2...ig-ten-network-on-xfinity-football-basketball
The new agreement ensures that Comcast customers in the Big Ten footprint (Illinois, Indiana, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, New Jersey, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin) will not see any interruptions in service. Nor will Big Ten fans in Delaware, Washington D.C., or the Northern Virginia suburbs, thanks to their proximity to a league school.
The contract will also guarantee that BTN will eventually be restored to the Sports and Entertainment premium tier for Xfinity customers outside of the traditional conference states, but no further details have yet been announced as to when that will happen.
I will find out more details this week and share with the group. I find it very unlikely that we would make an agreement with Fox and then hold back out of market games for the season. What would be the point? The out of market footprint was removed as a negotiating strategy with Fox. People are "rejoicing" because BTN won't end up like YES from a couple years ago."In addition, in the coming months, customers outside of the Big Ten states will have access to the Big Ten Network as part of Comcast’s Sports and Entertainment Package."
This makes it sound like they still won't have BTN games available out of footprint for a few more months (meaning all of college football season will be missed), which has been the issue the past few months, so I'm not sure why everyone's rejoicing. Is it poorly worded? Will BTN be available out of footprint in FL and other states next week?
The Comcast deal maintains the status quo as BTN has always been on basic in footprint and a sports package or some more expensive tier out of footprint.

is that correct, or were many out of market with Comcast getting it on a large digital tier with maybe 30-40 other channels, rather than a sports tier?
It was part of their Sports Entertainment Package which includes

My info shows all out of market carriage will be restored by the end of the week. Out of market will need to subscribe to the SEP package as previously noted. I suggest adding now as call centers will be busy come the weekend. Believe you can also add SEP at the website.I will find out more details this week and share with the group.
