Been at Arkansas for the past 4 years. For his career he has 17 carries for 105 yards and 6 catches for 84 yards with a TD. Has been a regular contributor on special teams. He'll be eligible to play immediately as a graduate transfer. This is his most noteworthy moment, and after our play on ST last year we could use more of it.

OK.just saw it..Duwop should have just came to RU at the get go..

His profile on that other site listed him as a Dual Threat QB and Safety. He was the #31 dual threat QB in his class.

He switched to RB:

he didn't come to Arkansas with the expectation of playing any position other than quarterback. And I could only imagine how tough it is to accept that coaches are basically telling you "you're not our guy at QB" after being brought in as one of the top dual-threat QBs in the country out of high school.

looks like building a stop gate special teams roster until the freshman class gains enough seasoning for some of them to be able to contribute in a positive manner.
Some posters claimed RU's ST unit was too slow, this might be a quick one year fix
to add speed to that unit. The article Knight Shift posted said Duwop was one of the better athletes on the Arkansas roster, that is a plus when it comes down to talking about if he's worth a one year investment.
Don't know if this will be the case, but locker-room leadership might be a part of what he brings to Rutgers as well. He seems to have put the Razorbacks success ahead of his own and that might help get the RU FB team working towards team success more than players looking at individual success for themselves first

Still early in Ash's RU career to believe everyone needs to accept him as the one that will bring RU FB to glory or think that he'll fail.
RU fans must remember what talent Flood left that he had to work with.
Not one if us can say Ash won't make RU a winner based on the way RU played last season or the questionably offense the now ex OC (Ash hired only to see him rabbit after a bad year) ran. Ash and his OC had a lot to overcome installing a new offensive system and one that the players they were teaching it might not have been totally suited for.
Ash did make up for hiring an OC that seemed not to be up for the position's responsibility with the Rabbit's replacement and someone who would be able to be an excellent interim HC if Hobbs decides Ash can't get it done.
I hope that won't happen and Ash proves to be a keeper.

As for Duwop, I think he will prove to be a good one year rental , even if his only contributions are on Special Teams and provides depth at whatever position he's put at.
DB,RB or WR contributions will be a plus , if he excels at ST play.

Awesome to have the Mitchell brothers playing together for us! Welcome home, boys!

I can see him getting some time at RB and in the slot. Ahmir retweeted him and said they'd be on offense together one last time so I doubt he's going to be a safety. Could see a lot of him on special teams. Gehrig Dieter was a standout receiver at Bowling Green. Transferred to Alabama to play special teams to show NFL scouts so he could get a roster spot. Wouldn't be surprised if Mitchell does the same. I know where not Bama but consistently covering kickoffs and punts well against the top B1G teams will get him noticed.

What? Huge difference from going to Bowling Green to Alabama to get exposure and going from Arkansas to Rutgers. He's coming here so he can play with his brother

Why did he not see the field more frequently?
Did Arkansas consider moving him to safety? Did he only want to play on offense?

As I mentioned, he is a wonderful athlete, but couldn't win a starting position versus some better talent.
I think he saw some limited action as QB, tight end, and safety.

I think Mitchell was just worried Bielema might eat him.

No shit. I'm saying that along with offense he could play a lot on special teams to get tryouts for NFL teams. They need special trainers as much as any other unit and that's how undrafted players make a roster.

Fine, but he was already playing special teams at Arkansas and getting a lot more exposure.

Could be a long shot here but I wonder if Ash is also trying to get a pure athletic type guy who, along with Harris, could fit into Grant's role. Recent threads and articles, although not definite, seem to be leaning toward Grant not returning.

Duwop is a great kid! Wonderful athlete who can play multiple positions.

I wish him the best and gives me another reason to pull for the Scarlet Knights!

Kind words..thanks.
Whatever position he plays ..whether it's a Harris/ Bailey type for returns/ Slot back or whatever............Welcome Duwop

If this kid is a stud ST player- that is worth its weight in gold. One year, so it doesn't really cost us a damn thing

Any speed we can add to our ST is great. Watching them this year became very clear how unathletic and slow we are.

He didn't play, but would have traveled to HPSS in 2013 as a RS freshman?

Crazy - 4 star dual threat QB as a high schooler, but fizzled out as a college QB.
