Julius Turner is the only one from this year's class correct? How many do we need in '17? Do you think that Bowles might stay on the D side or a few O guys might flip to the other side? ? Hansard would be a pied piper for some others I hope. Many questions yes but we know that we will win only if we win in the trenches.

Lumor had been moved from LB to DE.

Bowles will be a Center for sure. That said, it's interesting that of our 14 or so 2017 commits, that 12 or 13 ( Watts an 'athlete) of them are on the offensive side of the ball. And Ash is the Defensive guru. Go figure.

This has really surprised me too. Thought he would have more success right aware with defensive recruits after putting his entire unit in the NFL with OSU

Old, Behave .You want 50-49 every week? Sounds nice in theory but maybe just a little bit of D?

Last season JMU (even hosted ESPN GameDay) had a heck of a season, our defense let about 40 per game, but our offense was averaging 55 points per game. Worked well until our quarterback got hurt - then we were a bloodbath.

We are in very good positions with most of our top D-Line targets, no need for panic. It's only June after all.

I expect 3 of the 4 Athletes to play on defense. That being said, the staff has struck out so far recruiting front 7 players. Hopefully that changes soon.

Please list the front 7 players the staff struck out on that are committed to other schools.

I think we have very good shots with Tverdov, DE, Hansard DT, and Cory Bolds, DL, as well as LB CJ Onyechi. Tashon Fogg at LB is probably a better chance than people realize. Harrison Hand would be an awesome get. Singleton forget, probably the same with Wade Perry . Acceus the LB from St Joes, I have no idea.

Huh? Ash is going for the big dogs who have yet to decide. I'm sure they could have settled for a few below the radar players, but I'll be patient while Ash dukes it out with Mich, PSU, Tenn, etc.

Maybe struck out is the wrong phrase. They haven't landed a front 7 player yet and they are desperate as the depth after this season is not there. Recruiting the front 7 will make or break Ash's success.

We're in good shape with Marcus Valdez from DBP as well. I mentioned him a year or two ago and everyone (well a few posters, I forget who) shot me down and said he wasn't a D1 player.

Linebacker yes but RU currently has 14 DT/DE with eligibility at least thru 2017.
