SHU's luck ran out this afternoon. They came back from behind against Kentucky, Maryland, St. John's & Xavier. The Johnnies got robbed at the game end but today was much different. Depaul outplayed them all day. They deserved the win.

DePaul has had a lead in the last ten mins of every game this year but one, and they’re only 9-5. Nice to see them hang on today (only because Seton Hall couldn’t make a play to win it), but missed layup, 5 sec violation, and turnover on an inbound play did not make for a good final minute for the Blue Demons.

The Vegas line was SHU -2.....so the games are sometimes right where they project to be. I saw bits of it between football and Illinois Northwestern but the poster above mentioned DePaul having leads in almost all of their games....they were up 13 in 1st half and up 9 with 7 minutes left and almost coughed up another lung today.

The overhyping of Carino after beating Xavier on the road the other day, was way over the top. Xavier came unglued today losing 70-52 @ Marquette, game was never really competitive. Still not sure how good or not good Xavier is, but right now, they're not good IMO. SHU earns a split of the 2 road games, which on paper is what I'd imagine they'd signed up for at the start of the week.

Think Georgetown DePaul projected at 9th and 10th in the league, have a chance to get up in the standings, but league looks very balanced. The bottom of the league is improving but the Top of league is way down from last 2-3 years. They'll get 5 NCAA bids by default, someone will have a 10-8 Big East record and 20 wins, but not sure how OOC record will be viewed. The Pac 12 looks like just a 1 or 2 team league for NCAA bids.

Xavier is not good. SHU faithful are all Gaga given the gift vs SJU and the very meaningful win vs Kentucky and Maryland. Now they come back down to earth. Sports can be very humbling.

Wasn’t DePaul in the dumpster not too long ago?

I think true DePaul fans might disagree, but as a more unbiased, casual fan I think bringing back Dave Leitao was a good move for them.

Have to believe he’s not the best x’s and o’s guy from some of the questionable things I’ve seen on the court; that said, he’s brought in talent. They lost a ton of close games last year, and blowing leads this year, but they have some exciting players, they’re competitive, and wins will eventually follow.

That’s just too bad. Hate to see it. Just kidding. Great news

DePaul with wins over SHU and PSU this year, along with being probably the only team in the last 30 years to post a losing record in-conference vs. RU. We should really hang out with DePaul more often.
