Coming into the year I was under the impression he'd give us some D and some put backs and such. Had no clue that he could should 12-14 footers. My biggest concern this year losing Gettys was that none of our centers could shoot. Nice to see we have a center that can shoot as a freshman.

Glad to see this thread on Mamadou. We'd be singing his praises even more if not for our good fortune to have another outstanding freshman in Baker.

Doucore's foul line jumper is a thing of beauty. He has the best shooting form on the team. You can see he's also working on a move to drive across the lane with a hook-shot finish. That will come too, in time.

For a freshman Doucore has shown offensive skills rarely seen by Rutgers centers. His jump shot from the top of the key shows very good form and he also is a pretty good foul shooter.Working on the hook shot crossing the key and finishing on put backs are the next steps to work on in practice. He will face a big challenge against Florida State with two 7' centers.

This kid was a class of '18 recruit who reclassified to play this year. Could still be in high school. He oozes talent for a big man. I am in love with his game.

plays with a chip on his shoulder too. you wont see him being friendly with the opponent. williams+eugene+duke you are finally seeing some respectful bada$$es on this team.

Didn't realize this was the first Doucoure thread - posted this in the other one and it turns out I almost started a 3rd one, lol.

I was just about to start a thread on the Duke. Kid may end up being Pike's most important recruit, if he can stay healthy and learn to foul less. Had no idea how good of a jump shooter/foul shooter he is - he's 50% from the floor and 75% from the FT line this season, which is almost the best on the team, overall, albeit with less shots than, say, Baker.

I also like his athleticism, as he can run the floor and block shots and his defense is improving, plus he really seems to be enjoying himself out there. I think he can easily develop into a 10 point per night player by the end of the season and 15+ per game by his junior year. Great get by Pikiell, as is the more obvious great get of Geo.

He has the body of an NBA player and he's got a beautiful stroke from the line and from 16-18 feet. He's capable of being a special player. I can't wait to see how he develops this year and in the future under Pikiell's and Young's leadership.

In 9 months since I saw Doucoure vs Mulcahy and Gill St Bernard at Kean (sat with knights1212 that day), he's improved his body, strength and conditioning....he had decent touch and the ability to shoot from 12-16 feet, but it's not as confident looking as it was during the open practice and last night.

I'm concerned about Doucoure fouling, once he plays against smarter and more talented bigs in the B1G and folks like Delgado at SHU and Florida State's front line, but the upside is there. Once the game slows down for him and he's 100% aware on how to play against other kids his size/speed, he will be a quality contributor. The key was his offense and footwork was lacking and that was why he was considered a 3* to 4* in some places...No one doubted his body or footspeed (key to defend pick and rolls against B1G competition).

I think with Shaq Carter next year, you'll see more of the same on the front line.....mobile, able to block shots and create offense outside of the lane/paint.

I will be gargling with metal to get ready for FSU . I want to feel what I used to feel when the RAC was like being at a Black Sabbath show.

I remember that day well. Doucoure's team had very young guards who had a difficult time against Gill St. Bernard and Doucoure did not get the ball too often. You could tell he was an outstanding rebounder and was very strong. Now he seems to be able to block shots, rebound and hit the jump shots from about 12-15 feet. I think he will become a very good player during his career at RU.

How could he turn 20 in May, and possible have stayed in HS this year?

What kid graduates from high school at the age of 20???

He is a foreign born player, they may not be on the same schedule as a player who was born and went to school with in the US.

Mensah is 23 years old as a junior in college.

Actually even here there have been kids who have started school late and then repeats a year, especially prep school kids. Public school kids are not eligible to play if they turn 19 prior to Sept 1. I believe that was why Sanu was not eligible his senior year

We had a kid in our town when I was in school who turned 17 and had drivers license in 8th grade (dropped out in 9th)
