He must’ve been fatigued on Saturday, playing second day in a row. Even though they won (80-78), Dylan played 35 out of 36 minutes, shot 8 of 25 including 0 for 9 on threes (tired legs?) and missed 6 foul shots (12-18). His best stat was his rebounding, imo.He had 33 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists Friday in a loss.
I agree he appears unstoppable going to the hoop and needs work on his outside shooting. Just going by the last two games, he was 1-18 from deep.I watched a decent chunk of the first game and Dylan’s outside shooting was average at best. A few were air balls and several others were nowhere close to going in. That’s clearly not the strength of his game.
That said, the strength of his game is wheeling, dealing, and finishing in the paint. And at that I’m coming around to the belief that he’s better than any high school player I’ve ever seen. He’s very physical and finishes extremely well inside - EXTREMELY well.
Watching Dylan play it quickly becomes evident that he’s a special talent. But the outside shooting is definitely suspect. The good news is it doesn’t matter that much right now because nobody can stop him from putting it on the deck and getting to the hoop at will.
Yeah. He’s a very willing and capable rebounder for a guard.I agree he appears unstoppable going to the hoop and needs work on his outside shooting. Just going by the last two games, he was 1-18 from deep.
He is a volume shooter, for sure. If you count the times he missed but was fouled, he took more than 30 shots in each of those last two games. The good news is, he gets to the line a lot.
Hard to tell from those games what type of defender he is, but he seems to have a knack and desire for rebounding.
