“This is a learning year,” Jordan said. “Our fans have to understand that. I’m glad we didn’t have a whole lot of negative reaction from our fans. There was some, but that’s understandable.

“I hope our fans understand where we are: We’re a young team and we can come back with everybody healthy and some new recruits that we are going to get.”

"new recruits that we are going to get"

Still haven't seen these mythical recruits.

Not a whole lot of negative reaction from the fans, because the fans have either given up are stopped showing up.

I totally forgot we had a game... seems like the team did, too.

Glad to hear he's tossing in the towel with 14 games left to play, maybe we can just forfeit and work on our strength and conditioning instead since That is just awful. What are we learning this year EJ? besides your roster lacking big ten talent. Cancel the season and go recruit real players

In addition, Eddie want to single out one play in a 32 point loss. I'll singleout one play.....down 20 points at half with 8:30 left in intermission Eddie leaves his team to be part of a celebration.

That should never happen ever. Anyone engaged and passionate would not even consider leaving his team to participate in a celebration. This team takes on the personailty of its coach.

I completely agree. There is just no accountability on this team, starting with the coach.

It is a learning year for thevfans...we learned we have to move on

When I got the parking pass out of glove compartment....Purdue and Iowa next. I am really going to have to draw up some courage to go to those games. I am starting to think DVR is the way to go. Allocate 50 minutes as opposed to 3.5 hours to games.

If he doesn't re-recruit Corey IT IS OVER.

This is what scares me. Part of me thinks Corey knew what caliber team he signed up for and that things weren't going to change overnight ... but I also wonder , if the team only gets 0-2 conference wins...would he really consider staying?

At this stage of where we are players transferring isn't something that concerns me.

We are ranked #277 out of #351 D1 schools. The names we are surrounded by are almost comical. It is a total team effort to be as bad as we are.

Sanders had to know this program was garbage when he signed and he certainly did get what he signed up for. This is what gives me hope that he stays.

Kwe Parker must feel like he dodged a bullet.

the expectations placed upon Sanders by some here were incredibly ridiculous and comical. Couldn't believe the amount of hype that I saw people give him. We had people declaring him the best player ever at Rutgers. Very good player yes but not one to make 5-6 wins difference. Corey had been progressing pretty good but we see struggles now last 3 games when dealing with reality in the Big 10. So while he may be a very good player, trying to keep his confidence up and have him show improvement is going to be a challenge, its going to be tough to keep him from getting overwhelmed.

He's right. We are a young team and this is a learning year. But we still shouldn't be as bad as we are right now. These guys are learning the wrong things

foul trouble wasn't a problem yesterday but you know what pissed me off...Foreman picking up a foul the first 15 seconds of the game. Going forward with such a thin roster and picking up foul on a rebound shot attempt at the beginning of the game just is bad bad bad basketball iq.

I like going to games and talk with fans about topics not related to mens basketball.

Biggest problem overall. Single digit basketball IQ. Stems from the coach.

You guys are idiots. Not even sorry to say so.

Objectively look at the roster inherited after the Rice scandal, the overall roster now, and the available roster right now….

I think the years of losing have really taken its toll on the diehards here. I don't want to be an a**hole but its what I think needs to be said. The course Eddie has Rutgers on now, in terms of building the roster from the ground up, is going as well as could be expected (probably better if you were an outsider looking in). If you can't separate your emotions game-to-game from understanding the scope of the undertaking Eddie took on, you'd be better off taking a hiatus. Come back after Eddies 5th season, WHICH THERE WILL BE (get it through your heads and accept it), and the team will either have shown considerable improvement under Eddie, OR, have a roster where a new coach (not subject to a salary commiserate with buying-out the previous coach) can come in and hit the ground running.

THIS IS WHERE WE ARE AS A PROGRAM RIGHT NOW. JUST ACCEPT IT. Or keep agonizing over it. Whatever you want. It still won't alter reality; only the ludicrous expectations you're entertaining in your brain.

And once again your support is misguided by something a coach says. The man is NOT a college coach. He doesn't develop his players and even with the lack of facilities, nothing will change. Hobbs needs to fire him at year's end. Those in the know have seen enough. I'm saddened by it, because I love EJ and my love for Rutgers BB began in that magical '75/'76 season.

Why hasn't anybody learned to play defense? Or shoot the ball? Or run an offense? The only thing I see this team learning is how to lose by 30 seemingly every game.

You're part of the problem and there is no way Eddie will be here for 5 years.

Sojo -- go look at the HC and the top 3 assistants at the other 13 schools in the B1G. Then look at the RU staff. The gap is even bigger than what we've seen on the floor for the first 3 games. Van, Dalip and Shoes? And their skills development background is what and where? As useless as O'Koren was last year, are you telling me that the best guy that EJ could find was Dalip. Yeah, there's a real wow factor for recruits and their, uh, advisors.

I don't know how the other head coaches can keep a straight face when they go through the post-game handshake lines. One things for sure, those coaches love guys like you that want to keep EJ for a couple more years.

5 years.

Hahahahahahahahaha!!!!!!!!!

I wonder if this guy works at the improv?

I had these ludicrous expectations that we wouldn't
- Suffer our biggest defeat ever in the history of the RAC
- Lose twice to the same team in one season by 30+ points (Louisville)
- Allow one of our opponents their largest road victory margin in nearly a century
- Be rated by Kenpom as the worst program in the state a full three years into his regime
- Endure a 15-game losing streak
- Be out-rebounded on a regular basis and then have our coach inform us we don't practice it
I could go on but that should be sufficient...

Feel free to indulge me and the rest of the "idiots" on here and let us know what would be acceptable expectations. Or better yet, give us some evidence why you think Eddie will succeed or even be around for five years (so we can "get it through our heads and accept it").

While coaching this abortion of a program left by the Mike Rice debacle, he recruited his best (and most recent) class, 2 4 stars and a 3 star, to come play for him. They didn't come for Rutgers they came for him. If you think the next coach, who I can guarantee (if Eddie is fired after this year) will have no name cache compared to Eddie's when first hired, and therefore bring in recruits no better than 2 star borderline 3 star guys, will do better well than you are mistaken.

You don't understand recruiting. This is wrong on several levels.

Eddie is the uninspired as a recruiter.

sorry....Jordans best team was his first team which were all Rice players except for Etou. AND even he poory coached those guys. He is not recruiting. he is not known for a recruiting. He is not overachieving which every coach must do when they start building a program. If you cant recruit and can coach them up, then you are not going to win, its simple as that. So you can have Eddie coach for 10 years but he still will not be landing recruits.

the promotion of Dalip was a joke...he was interim and then all of sudden he was full time...WOW
