There was an article Carino put out there about how the new offense Eddie is going to run will focus more on the 3 point shot.

I think this is a good idea to run a college offense in this manner, but you need to have shooters to make it work. If we are really going to run it this season, do we have the shooters to do it? Not from what I have seen the last couple of years, but maybe they have improved. To me, it seems like our recent recruits are more slashers as opposed to shooters, but I guess we will see.

I think is Coach Jordan is willing to let these guys try to show their stuff. Are they the players from last year?Well we only say WIlliams. But if the shot is there, take it. If you get hot, it will pay off.

Trends are trends in basketball. 3 pt shooting is trending right now. Just gotta use the ball movement and spacing to get to open spots and open looks.

I dont think Eddie is thinking run $ gun when he talks of shooting if its there.
I believe that his vision for the program is aggressive defense first. I believe the intention is to pressure teams into turnovers and transition into a quick strike offensive.
In other words AFTER you play defense and turn teams over or rebound the ball. Get out I to space and either out athletic teams to the cup, or allow our ball handlers to shoot in space.
That will be the formula until a low post player arrives. Fast, aggressive, entertaining basketball.
Like the Jason Kidd era Nets.
That team beat a lot of more talented teams playing that style.
Kittles = long and athletic
Martin = long and athletic
Vanhorn = long and athletic like
Jefferson = uber athletic
Kidd = Was Kidd

Sounds like our undefeated ''76'' team with Sellers,Dabney and Copeland....not to forget my old Belleville NJ neighbor/homey Abdel Andersons.....i'd love to see that helter skelter style succeed here again...the Barn would vibrate.

With tough hardnosed D, I am totally in favor of "take the first good look" offense. The players and fans will both love it.

And for once it will be nice to say we actually have a style of play, one that the players and fans can get behind, and one that will help us identify recruits who fit the system.

In an interview....Jordan said the players love his approach, if you have an open look 3....take it.

There needs to be consistency in what we do as a program year to year. We can't change the offense on a year to year basis. I get the need to make adjustments based on personnel.

Great to see Eddie on paper bring in talent. The next step is building a foundation on both sides of the court and, taking it to another level, what is expected as a student athlete.

I am very confident in the 2nd part.

I like to see the adjustments. Like you lead to, from year to year you have different players. You adjust to your players, not vice versa. That makes the students get you as a coach more and want to play for you.

I think by next year we have a 15-17 win season as long as this year we can get 10+ wins.

We fans loved that old 70s style run and gun...full court press and the barn was shaking on those cold late fall nights....we were eastern BB royalty there for awhile...EJ don't forget...Since we for the time being lack for 6'11'' posts and 6'9'' PF's we compensate with waves of fast and furious 6 '- 6'8'' types of relatively interchangeable athletes and run em out of the RAC.
