If this is our "top candidate" I'm pretty dissapointed

Golden had consistent top 20, even top 10 recruiting classes ..
..in a relatively less competitive ACC
..had far better football advantages with budget & staff down there, and overall alumni support compared to RU
and they never amounted to anything

His team gave up on him this season..
he was run out of town with tweets, plane banners, etc.

And that's who we want ?

The top reason you state is the reason I would hire him. I'll take much better recruiting classes and risk he doesn't develop them than someone who can't recruit our area. He needs a very good staff that develops players. But, Miami's fan base is a joke and he had some scandals to deal with. Last I checked, Coker and Shannon couldn't hack it as well. You'd be willing to hire a OC/DC that's never run a program or recruited on his own against Saban, Meyer, Harbaugh, etc poaching the talent out of NJ? Not me

This past week is getting close to qualifying as an historic cluster****, even for Rutgers.

How has this been a cluster**** so far? They took quick, decisive action which I applaud. Now, they exploring their options, I'm sure with the mindset that RU is not everyone's plum job. How would you have handled it differently?

I'm not sure why our own fans insist that we aren't a good job unless it's more of the usual self-loathing. Being in a P5 conference is the pinnacle of college football, 62 teams out of hundreds, in a state with lots of talent and no local competition. It's not among the very best of P5 teams but it's not exactly Southeastern Alaska Community College ffs.
