for a few giggles and laughs...

Now they have a two page post asking the original be shut down.

Many of them are in the line of it makes them look bad to be discussing RU.

SUFaninNJ points out
"Having NCAA sanctions makes us look bad.
Having multiple losing seasons in football, makes us look bad.
Having an ex-player stab two of his former teammates, makes us look bad.

Having a thread about Rutgers doesn't really rank anywhere near the top of a list about what makes us look bad."

Damn, that thread was locked before I could reply.

What I find amusing is there are so many Cuse posters who talk about their superiority over RU. A quick glance at records shows that in the last 10 meetings between the two schools, Rutgers held a 7-3 advantage.

I guess Revisionist History is a big major up north.

HAHA We're in the B1G and you little bitches aren't!!

I'm surprised to hear he is still alive. Easily the most bitter dude to ever to grace this board. His depends were in a constant bunch.

The old guy swore up-and-down for years that Rutgers would never get an invite to the Big Ten. That prediction was followed with equal certainty that Maryland would never go to the Big Ten if offered.

An RU fan had an interesting point:
"..Princeton may have had bigger rivals over the years but I know the game mattered to them, I was there also... They also did not like losing to RU and after losing a couple in a row ended the series ... That ruffled a few feathers..."

The delicious irony of that last sentence seems to have completely gone over their resident football-illiterate's heads. Ruffled indeed. Well done sir.

They will say "college football existed before 2005" when we bring up the last 10 meetings. Yes, yes it did. We are also 17 years into a new century in which they've yet to be relevant. Living in the past they are.

...a lot of their fans always say the 'before 2005' line; I usually respond, 'yes, and it existed after 1998 as well'.

I get it that college football is one of sports where "what have you done for me lately" doesn't always apply but Cuse is almost 2 full decades removed from relevance. Yes programs like Bama and USC have had droughts but not 20 years. And Cuse was a good regional program when they were good. They were not Bama or USC.

And they are 5 and a half decades removed from NATIONAL relevance. They had a nice run in the late 80s and early 90s... but that was over 15 or 20 years ago.

They are claiming the only reason our attendance is higher than theirs is because other B1G fans treat it as another home game. Can anyone pull the attendance numbers for both schools for the 5 years prior to us joining the Big Ten? I'm curious to see what they look like.

I wouldn't get too worked up about this thread. They need to do something to distract themselves from the terror caused by the idea that once Boeheim is gone there is a very good chance they lose their relevance in BB as well.

Save the Army game following the Kent State debacle, ironically the lowest attendance game for you guys was Syracuse at 48k

...only absolute fools would claim something when easily-accessible numbers prove otherwise. I'm willing to bet we've consistently outdrawn cuse for around 10 years, and definitely years before the fairly serious Rutgers/B1G talk was even a rumor (I first remember it in the Spring of 2010)...they can go find yet another straw to grasp at.

A quick Google searched showed that cuse's highest average attendance since 2005 is 41,073 in 2006. That means we've outdrawn them from 2006-on, including a 2012 head-to-head dual gameday in NJ in which we drew like 12k more vs. 1AA Howard than they did vs USC in the Meadowlands...

...again, they can go find yet another straw to grasp at.

The following is a "gem" from that guy Townie...

It's like a Reverse Homecoming Game.

A Homecoming Game involves playing a cupcake opponent for an easy win in front of the alumni who have journeyed back to the Campus.

This is also playing a cupcake for an easy win but instead it's played where some of the Alumni live.

And as the 30 point and 40 points shellackings pile up, even more seats will be available for the local B1G fans.

Quite a concept.

I'd really like to meet this guy.

There 17 fans are sh*tting bricks that Babbers will run before his first sip of coffee, just like their AD did. Guaranteed. #smalltime

Plus, I assume the idiot townie left sarah in '72. Using his stupid dates, he went to the RU/PU game from roughly '54 on. Since '54 the series record was 13-13-1. Sorry, a game played every year since the dawn of time AND a split record the last 1/4 century? That is/was a rivalry. townie - just another cuse moron.

If true, this makes Townie about mid60's-ish which is pathetic yet tells me a lot about why he is still in denial that RU football is consistently competitive at the FBS level. He can't conceive or accept change.

Giving Babers too much credit. He hasn't won 1 game yet but if you think he is so good I guess that means they will be good this year.
