the lack of local ties works everywhere except N.J.. here high school coaches want to be stroked whereas everywhere else high school coaches want to be in the graces of the state college programs. It’s pretty horrible.
We can do much better than Greg for that type of offer. I mean seriously

There is a reason Jules is selling houses and Golden is coaching Linebackers in Motown.
Everyone seems to be missing the issue here. Had Hobbs hired Golden or Butch a month ago with a significantly upgraded staff, most people would have rolled with it. I begrudgingly would have. Even those of us who don’t want either coach would have probably returned with hopes that a better staff and some real HC experience at the helm would at least get us in a better direction. Ash was THAT bad.
Instead, the guys behind the guy decided to kick off the public Schiano crusade distracting the fan base and making it almost impossible for Hobbs to have a legit search pushing it to the point where the fan base was foaming at the mouth for a $100mm+ facility and return of the chosen one. By last week Politi and clan were all on board and the twitter warriors were out in full force. Greg or bust!!!! Now, if things collapse the fan base is in revolt mode and nothing we can do save an Urban level hire would satisfy.
When does Greg Brown or Towers take a hit for this fiasco allowing this to become so public and political?
Yet again, RU can’t control the message and has put themselves at risk of a PR nightmare. And THAT my friend is the real story.

We have already lost a good portion of the season ticket base. We may be down to the RU diehards who will renew seats every year no matter what the record.
Im starting to wonder how much Greg will actually move the needle on season ticket sales for 2020. Many former ticket holders may take a wait and see approach before getting back in again.
We (my crew) went from a high of 28, to 8, this year. An early “poll” suggests we’ll double that next season with a Greg hiring.

NOBODY that's worth a damn wants this job. NOBODY. Everybody knows the school doesn't give a shit about football. This job has been a career killer for 4 of the last 5 guys who had it.
AG is coaching in the NFL and has been for 3 years. Greg is sitting at home. Not down on GS but if his demands are out of line it’s time to move on. AG is a reasonable alternative. Both turned around downtrodden programs. Both coached in the nfl. Both can recruit. Both from NJ. Presumably AG has some FL connections from coaching Miami. The similarities are eerie
