No need for a long recap today. This was an embarrassment out there today. Across the board it was a pathetic and dare I say gutless performance from the players and the coaching staff as well. Many could see this coming a mile away...classic trap game..does not excuse anything. RU sleptwalk through the entire game. There was no leadership, no confidence and no composure. The coaching staff may have coached one of their worst ever. This joins Hartford and Stony Brook has just flat out inexcusable losses by this program

Yes Rutgers is not as bad as they played. We know this. We have seen the way the team has performed against waaaaaaaaaaaaaay better this season. Make no mistake Fordham is a horrendous program that is A10 in name only. They would have trouble finishing in the top half of the MAAC. They are made up of a bunch of new players and freshmen yet they looked like the better team. Game was lost in the whole approach and first half. You never let a team like Fordham gain confidence like they did. It was a perfect recipe and all kinds of shots went in while RU played the entire game wound tight

There will be peaks and valleys for sure and this was a huge valley today. I have been very very supportive of Pike and the players this year but quite frankly this is not part of the process. This is a horrendous loss for the program no matter how anyone may try to spin it. Doesn't mean we will not have a big win this year or win 6 conference games but its certainly a black mark for the program this year and a reality check on just how far we have to go. Not to mention its really the first real bad loss for the Big 10.

SHU next week...ugh, yes we will compete but it is not a good matchup. They have weapons and we are still behind them in development

No need for a long recap. I couldn’t bear to read it. Most disheartening loss in a long time, given preceding expectations and good vibes.

Pike needs to beat SHU soundly if he wants to show this was a really bad fluke. We cannot have 4 straight losses. For a bad, unpredicted loss like this we need a really strong, unpredicted win to make up for it. No better team to do it against then the hall.

If Honor can put up 30 i dont even wanna see what Powell can do us.

I'm waiting for the fire pike screams from are "loyal" fans
I wouldn't say he should be fired, but he was out coached today. Maybe he's not as great as some make him out to be.

Or, maybe, Rutgers played down to Fordham like MSU, Wiscy and Miami played down to Rutgers?

Lack of energy and enthusiasm from the kids this early in the season is pretty sad. What’s up with the lack of a discernable offensive gameplan against a young, undersized opponent?

the only thing I can say is hope they learn from this. almost like they were cocky after playing well for a few games....IDK. pissed I wasted my afternoon.

when does anyone think winning a div1 game in any sport is easy--it's not , football is the toughest but anything usually happens in bball

I wouldn't say he should be fired, but he was out coached today. Maybe he's not as great as some make him out to be.

Pikiell has struggled to find consistency with his teams. He has them competeting and playing with teams like Michigan st and Wisconsin, then can’t keep that level and we play down to the level of teams like Fordham. This team can’t act like they’re a really good team or else they will lose. They have to come out with a chip on their shoulder.

I have no idea wtf happened today. Players looked like they were hungover. The coaches had no answer for Honor. Ball movement was awful, defense was bad, rebounding was awful. Did the entire program contract the flu?

Hobbs can stay in the Rose Hill Gymnasium and not come back to New Jersey.

Honor was the best player on the floor today. We had no answer for him and honestly we had no one who can take over a game like he did. Giv e the kid credit, he was clutch when it counted, as were several other of their players to a lesser extent. We’re just not good enough to give a half-hearted effort.

Looking at the stat line. Didn’t see the game. Looks like their guard smoked Geo. A good guard in college make a huge difference.

It’s the coaches job to prepare a team. Sure payers have some accountability but most is on the coaching.

Back to square one. All I'm looking for is baby steps, not leaps backwards like today. That really isn't too much to ask for, even in a rebuild. So disgusted in today's lackluster minimal effort performance. This was not the same team I watched the last three games. They deserved to lose.

Same as the other night. Last couple minutes of the first half and first couple of minutes of the 2nd half is what doomed us. Had a 10 point lead, looked to be in control...they got a lucky break on the 3 pointer at the buzzer and instead of 8 it was 5. First 2 buckets of the second and its a different game.
Yeah, Honor was out of his mind, but the interior defense was horrible. Way too many screen and rolls enabled them to take control. Gotta play better defense.

We could have fed ball in to Omoruyi all night long. If he got double teamed would lead to easy Garbage bucket on pass off or rebound. Defensive rebounding in 2nd half was poor, considering size difference. Honor was just that good today. Cannot blame defense for some of his crazy shots. After we had comfortable lead in first half, only to lose it on their long 3 at the end of the half and 2 quick buckets to start the second, had a bad feeling about this game..
