We gave up 42 points in the first half which included 5 threes. The difference is not effort, the difference is that Corey started at PG and he and Nigel put the ball in the basket.

Sanders play most encouraging. If our bigs could only finish and shoot FT's we would have a chance. Johnson should sit for that shot he threw up near the end of the half on a drive. Freeman's limitations become more evident with each game against a quality opponent. Michigan State will be near the top of the league by the end of the year. Let's keep playing hard in the second half.
and its obvious the team is playing harder. Just look at the offensive rebounds. PSU would have had 52points if they had shot the ball like this, make this many free throws, and didn't turn it over so much.

We have 8 offensive rebounds in the first half. We had 13 for the game against Penn State and Penn State had 7.
Every team knows how to sell a foul. Not us, of course, but hopefully that's coming as we gain experience. We should make use of Mason Gross's acting department for shit's sake.

and that had little to do with Rutgers..they sucked as bad as we did that first half and tried to give the game away early but we didn't want it.

I dont fault the defensive effort tonight, RU is playing at a much faster pace, if posters here think RU is going to hold the top half of the league to the 60s night in and out they are fooling themselves. Most schools will score over 70 and some of them in the 80s against RU

sorry Penn State was dreadful in that game, no one can say, Penn State was so good, they didnt score because they bricked shots, not because RU was so impressive on D
when I was manager for the High team (as a middle school student) one of my jobs was record "hustle plays"... scoring was not on the list of options to earn points.
There is no doubt that the coaching is in place. Facilities are in motion and lastly, we need the players.
