Purdue looks like they’re panicking on offense, playing out of control, and if not for getting bailed out with foul calls, they’d be in a much deeper hole.

Watching this first half, and watching the elite level defense we are playing, this is why Pike has been successful where the coaches before him failed. He has given the program an identity. Everyone knows, and has known for a while, that when you play Rutgers, you are going to face a stifling defense.

Rutgers’ aggressive defense really got Purdue’s guards playing out of synch and rushing everything.

But Painter will be ready with a counter to our full court pressure. We will need to adjust accordingly.

One thing about this team is the depth - Pike has built a team that can go 10, even 12 deep.

Expect Purdue to go 4-9 in the second half to end the game at their 30% average from three. We can weather that if we keep doing what we’re doing.
